He struggled huh? I saw the game and he struggled in the first quarter and first half because of his emotions... He finished the game 52% completions after starting badly...threw for 233 yards, 3 TD's NO INT'S! I mean seriously...it is ridiculous the things people will say about a guy to make him look bad...he had one bad half so he can't throw the ball in wind...bunch of crap is what that is.
Not to be annoying, but if you would be kind enough to post the content (or pertinent content) I would appreciate it. The link is asking for my email, etc. I usually do not do this because the address is typically sold all over the i-net and then your spam goes way up as well as adware. The sight may be legit, don't get me wrong, but there is some nasty stuff on the i-net because it is not policed at all, essentially.
I think all this QB talk needs to be put on hold until next year. We need 1 full year to see where we stand with Chad. I mean what does it say when the Saints who had the pick of the lot signs Brees? I am really not sold on any of the 3 being studs in the NFL, if I was forced to pick one I would go Young because he can with games with more than just his arm.
No problem... "Quarterback Matt Leinart had a horrible start to his final game in the Coliseum and needed until the second half to gain control. He struggled with his emotions and his inability to get loose early in the game. But he mostly avoided costly mistakes until he found his rhythm. And he finished strongly with some nice plays in the second half. Leinart also gets a few bonus points for his second career reception, though not as much as he would have if he'd scored. John David Booty only threw three passes and completed one of them." He finished the game with 52% completions, 233 yards, 3 TD's and ZERO INT's in a game he struggled...The wind had nothing to do with his performance...he was off target to start the game and took the game over in the second half.
I like the idea of trading Abe for Matt Schaub....if it can be done. Then we can trade out of the 4th spot and address some other needs....but i'm not holding my breath, dont think ATL will do it...but who knows. I'm not really sold on any of the QB coming out this year in the draft....Leinart reminds me of Chad but w/o the leadership and fire plus all the games i saw he's throws didnt really impress me expect for the ND game (awesome aubible) but still kinda underthrown....JMO "'06 QB draft Hater.....LOL"
He did better in the second half because Bush had practically won the game for them in the first half. The opposition had to respect the run to the point where Jarret started buring them up. I don't know fo rsure if he will struggle in NY, I just put up a little yellow flag, that's all. The thing is, things are so super critical right now, that if we do bring in a franchise QB like Leinart and for some reason he really does struggle in the wind, we are not going to have a Reggie Bush and Lendale White to fall back on; it will still all be on Matt.........that is what concerns me. If it doesn't work out because of what I have noticed, not that I am a talent scout or anything, we will be forfeiting considerable time in order to be really good. You brought up emotions again; please explain.........
I already posted the emotions thing...here it is again... John David Booty only threw three passes and completed one of them."
I think in the midst of all the Cutler hype, people are quickly forgetting just how good of a QB Lienart is.
Noooooo... Emotions meaning he was sad it would be his last game played at the colliseum...I have posted that as well.
I like Cutler as well, but the hating on Matt Leinart makes me want the guy on our team even more...its freaking ridiculous that Jets fans don't want one of the best college QB's ever....when we have a huge need at the position...
Yes, very true, but in that situation, usually people get pumped up. Maybe he was trying too hard in the first half, a bit, and that could have had something to do with it. It is possible. On the plus side Leinart's release is the mirror image of Brady's; only because Leinart is a lefty.
Who knows? Either way his emotions got the best of him in a farewell game...I am not worried about. His arm strength is not a concern...it is scrutinized by everyone because that is the only part of his game that isn't on a superstar level...
I definitely do not hate Matt Leinart. I am being objective, that is all. It is not that I do not want him, I am just being cautious.
Well, I will say this. If Cutler and Young go ahead of him, which I doubt, but if it did happen this way, I would be fine with using our #4 pick on him. I do not like the idea of trading up. That even goes for Bush as well. We just have too many needs to throw away picks.
I'm not anti-Cutler by any means. I just think Lienart is on a differen't level right now and is less of a risk. My point is, a lot of people are paying way too much attention to the pre-draft hype and downplaying Lienart's ability.
yeah im not buying it, plus dont good QB's keep their cool and focus on the game? im really on the fence about how he will do on the next level, he wants to play for us? of course he does he just got done being worshipped at USC now he wants to come save the day in NY and be postered on Times Square? gimme a break, all he sees is the big city and endorsements. i guarantee you hes the type of player who will turn on his team mid game after being sacked 4 times in the first half. im sorry he has primadonna written all over him. if he's ever seen in new york i hope its in a ball room and not green and white.
The JETS once had a QB like that, it seemed to work out well  Not the same, but just saying.........
While this is possible, I think it could potentially be avoided if he spends most of his first year here in study and practice. That would be very true of any drafted QB. If we put him in the first game of the season, that would be a mistake.
