I totally disagree. The jury is still out on how good a GM Mac is, whether he's good, very good, great or maybe just competent, but his being a buffoon isn't even under consideration. That's ridiculous and totally asinine. A robot could not have made the moves he made last year. That's just stupid. Not all GMs are so wise, and some reach out of need. To say that any GM would have made that pick is flat out wrong.
You gotta stop feeding into this guys trolling. It's happening in almost ever thread. Forte, Ivory, Snacks, Fitz. I can't tell if it's trolling or he's just that much of a self loather that he's reduced to saying such absurd things.
I just feel like he could have done a better job planning ahead when it comes to the amount we spended last year
Dude. You do realize that OL just can't be generalized like that don't you? Some OL are better in pass protection, but not as good in run blocking. Some are good in run blocking, but not very good in pass protection. Some OLs are good at both, and some are pretty poor at both. I don't know that much about Chicago's OL, but I know that Forte is no Barry Sanders and can't create on his own, and he's not that fast or elusive, so he wouldn't have been able to compile the stats he has if their OL wasn't good at RB. The only thing that is nonsense is your post.
Yes coming from the guy that went to bat for John Idzik when he didn't spend any money in free agency."A lesson in Rollover Money" Idzik was fired a year later. He never had a chance to use his "Rollover Money"
Are you happy with last years haul? If so, thank Idzik. Also, you're just deflecting. Defending a guy who started a plan that another GM finished is different than acting like the sky is falling and saying completely outlandish things.
Perhaps he could have, but that wouldn't make him a buffoon, and as I have said in numerous other posts, he had only been with the team a couple of months, was trying to negotiate with Mo's agents, trying to assess potential draft picks, assess the competence of his scouts and personnel people, and trying to sign FAs all at the same time. Even the most experienced GM would have liked made some mistakes in that scenario. If Mac only miscalculated finances a little, that's understandable and hardly something to get upset about.
LT had almost 800 more carries and one more year of tread on the tires than Forte does now. He's going to be very productive in this offense.
I really wish this signing would just be announced so it's official and I can be happy about it. I'm having visions of Frank Gore...
It's a good signing. Forte fits the system very well. We still need a thumper to go with him Derrick Henry cough cough.
So tired of hearing this. Yeah we had to spend last year to hit the salary floor. No we didn't have to spend the whole 50 million and leave us nothing for the offseason when we knew we had important FAs coming up.
