I would save the anger for guys like Wilkerson. Forte was a class act on and off the field, not his problem the Jets signed him past his prime. He had a nice career, enjoy retirement 22
2016, 14 games, 813 yards rushing 2017, 12 games, 381 yards. The writing was clearly on the wall. As mentioned earlier, when he signed with us, I envisioned him being a terror catching passes in the flat, screen game........oddly, not utilized that much that way.
Great character guy, better than decent player in his prime, age got the best of him as it does to us all. I wish him the best. At least a major injury didn't end his career for him. That's always sad to me, no matter who it happens to . . . but there's always that one exception. Bernard Pollard for President in 2020! And before anyone gives me any guff, I seriously don't ever want to see anyone injured under any circumstances, even Mr. Crappy Ass Baby. It's just that sometimes resistance is futile. REASON FOR EDIT: I tried to find a smaller photo. I couldn't. Haha.
I don't really care what he did in Chicago. I watched him play when he was a Bear he never struck me as a great player. I knew the media was full of crap when they hyped him up to be some all purpose dynamo. I feared his presence would ruin the chemistry the Jets offense built in 2015 with Powell sadly it was justified. Yes very poor talent evaluation by the Jets. Forte didn't make a good impression on me as a Jet starting with missing most of his first training camp & preseason here with a hamstring injury. When it happened again in year two I knew this guy was only here for the paycheck. Vastly overrated player by the media, ordinary player. I'm glad he's gone good riddance.
