I hereby retract everything I have said in this thread and apologize to everyone that I disagreed with. What a jerkoff. _
Then they promptly traded him to KC, who reworked it into a 6 year, $63 million dollar deal. This for a guy who basically went 8 years between starts ( he was a backup in college and his first 3 years in the Pro's). Then Brady got hurt and he has a great 2008 season. Again, he makes his last High School start, then doesn't start again for 8 years, then parlay's that into $63 million. Only in America.
You had the name wrong but the facts right. They did franchise Cassell after the 2008 season, then traded him. "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" "Germans?" "Forget it, he's on a roll"
That's truly jaw-dropping. I mean incredible. I'm not a big believer in luck but if you told me that guy was petting a rabbit's foot during the season opener in '08 when the Patriots were lining up with Moss & Welker in their primes I would believe it. Talk about life-changing
Yeah, not impressed with this move at all lol. They got a great player in McCoy, but Cassell is NOT a good QB. _
Sanchez is far better than Cassel. What is Rex thinking? Maybe add Sanchez and have all 3 compete? Definitely add somebody. Can't go into a season with Cassel and Manuel as your QB's. Rex is literally recreating his Jets team all over. As I said before, he learned nothing his 6 years as a Head Coach. Embarrassing.
Cassell had a good year in 2010 and KC won the title--then in the 1st playoff game he was 9/18 for 70 yards and 3 int. Orton never made the playoffs but had 3000 yd seasons 2008-2010 (as did Cassell) and 2014. Every year except his first he's had more TD than INT. Cassell had 6/12 in 2012 and 3/4 in 2014. (TD/INT) Orton was decent when he was traded for Cutler and he's still decent last year. You underestimate him.
I'm recording it on your lists of mistakes--let's see, 11000 posts--less than 5 mistakes. You're only 99.95% accurate. Try harder.
could have stopped at never made the playoffs. I don't care about meaningless #s on bad teams, this was a QB benched for Rex Grossman and Tim Tebow. If Orton was decent last year Buffalo would have been a playoff team easily.
At least they're doing something. Don't know how much input Rex has in these moves. Or the relationship between Rex and Whaley
