you honestly think that the bears took less in a trade to make the departing player happy? I highly doubt that.
I think the Jets matched the highest bidder and threw in a raise and the Bears took that deal. There were reports saying the Bears asked Marshall what teams he'd be cool with going to, that's how badly they wanted him gone. Lol. Apparently Marshall didn't listen to Trestman and was always flying to New York to do the Inside the NFL shit. Wouldn't be surprised if he's more interested in that than the Jets to be honest.
Yeah- Marshall came to the jets because Geno is smart. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/jets-insider-marshall-back-nfl-article-1.2254234 Jets WR Brandon Marshall will be back on Showtime's 'Inside the NFL' this season Brandon Marshall is coming to a TV near you every week of the season. Well, he’s staying on it anyway. Marshall said Wednesday that he’s decided to be on Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” again this season. Last year Marshall was on the show, but since it was based in New York, he had to fly from Chicago every week on his day off. “Oh yeah, we already decided that,” Marshall said. “I’ll be on ‘Inside the NFL.’ Pretty much a local show now, right? “Last year, took a chance and traveled a little bit on my off day,” he added. “And now it’s easy. It’s going to be 10 minutes from my house.” Before Marshall was traded to the Jets, it looked like his appearance on the TV program had the potential to cause some issues with the new Bears brass. _
I just want him to catch touchdowns.........Brandon Marshall isn't gonna cure mental illness and no light needed to be shed on a problem that's been known about and treated for the last 50 years.
Right after he was signed he mentioned how it would be a 30 minute drive to the Showtime studio if he decided to do Inside the NFL. How much you want to bet he stayed at his new bff Geno's house just long enough for a place much closer to the studio to go on the market?
Btw this doesn't make him a bad guy or a bad teammate. I'm actually excited to have him. He's just being disingenuous as to why he "chose" the Jets. It's Showtime in more ways than one. _
Oh I love Marshall he's always been my favorite non Jets player. I'm just calling it like I see it and he loves the spotlight . What better place then NY to be in the spotlight ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just shows how little the Geno bashers know. Marshall must really think Geno is a good QB, otherwise why would he make a fool of himself publicly supporting a guy who will just be benched in a few weeks? If Marshall thought Geno was not going to win the job, he wouldn't be saying these things publicly. (not to mention the fact that he decided to room with him and work out privately with him)
I think Marshall's wife suggested he move in with Geno because it is really hard to score whenever Geno is involved.
Suh is my candidate for the next NFL player to be convicted of murder but he's one of the best at his position and he's making 100 million dollars. I think most NFL players are balanced but when there is a high number of them that have their heads smashed and damaged you have to expect some of them will have emotional and mental issues due to head injury and chemical influence. At least Marshall is honest about what he has gone through
It's pretty obvious as to why Marshall would want to play in NY. Having said that I'm sure he didn't mind having Geno as his QB. Not because Geno has proven anything but because of the connection they have made in the past. We don't know the other teams who were interested. The NY area was obviously a huge draw and having known Geno I'm sure gave a leg up on the other not so great QB teams.
What?! Everytime I watch an interview of Marshall, I see a mature, intelligent, grounded person. He's probably the smartest, most mature player on our team right now. He's matured a lot since his past.
