not even close. ik that with our sudden wave of success we demand our players to hit well 162 games a year, but its not gonna happen. wright will find his stroke, give him a little more time.
I don't think this is permanent but he and Delgado has been ice cold this entire year so far, and Wright hasn't been right since after the HR derby
I was joking a bit with the Thompson comment. Thompson was good in 1989. Not the level of player Wright is, of course. But Thompson was a nice player. Then along came 1990. He sucked. Then he was good again in 1991. Wright is off to such a horrible start that it is going to be very tough for him to equal his numbers of last year.
Delgado swings at ball 4 and hits a ball into the teeth of the shift. No, Keith, it's not a big "hang with it" when you hit it exactly where the defense is playing you to hit it - you need to change your approach so they stop putting fielders where you always hit it.
Yeah I figured you were being semi-sarcastic. I agree, Wright equalling his numbers from last year seems like it may be a stretch, but I still think he can put up solid numbers if he starts to hit again. You're right he hasnt been the same. I'm only giving you guys a hard time because I feel the same way, but I don't want to. Its always a little nerveracking when your cornerstone of the future is playing like shit.
Well, time to see if Pelfrey is a major league pitcher. Duque going down helps him, but you have to wonder how long he'll stay up if he keeps pitching the way he has been. Asian Heritage Night tonight - maybe Park should have pitched tonight, instead of last night.
Here we go again. Pelfrey has taken over for Trachsel this year in the absolute torture to watch pitch department.
And Pelfrey picks up where he left off, pitching himself right out of the major leagues. This guy has taken about ten steps backwards since spring training. Willie says that Duque being on the DL won't affect the decision on Pelfrey. If that's true, he's gone unless things change immediately.
Well, we'll see if Willie is full of it or not, since it is obvious that Pelfrey is not a major league pitcher at this time. Reyes starts the bottom of the inning off with a single.
