Tougher play for Wright and he makes it. Mighty Joe gets through his career-high-tying 1 1/3 innings.

 

Joe Smith and John Maine, and the every-other-start Oliver Perez have been great surprises as far as pitching goes so far this year...

Even though I guess some could have seen Maine's good start coming

 

Interesting decision to bring Smith out again for the 8th inning. This is as much a comment on Heilman as it is on Smith.

and the mets manage to salvage a game from the fish.

 

This day, ten years later, it happened again.

 

At least we salvaged one game out of this overall nasty series... I'm going to start the DBacks series thread now to make sure we don't come out flat tomorrow night
