I don't know what beef you have with 3rd but I think it is a bit ridiculous that the first time all year you are in a Mets game thread is their elimination thread.
You absolve Reyes and not Wright? Reyes has been as bad as anyone in the '06 playoffs and down the stretch in '07 and '08. At least Wright did well last September and picked it up a little the last couple weeks this year, for all of his problems in the clutch. And Beltran's the only player on this team that's come through all three years, yeah he left the bat on his shoulder in '06 but he still hit around .300 with 3 HR's that playoffs, and had great Septembers last year and this year.
I am still in disbelief....... Does it surprise anybody that it was Schoensuck that threw the pitch that ended our season? I know it's been said but it's almost as if Gonzalez made it personal by having Lindstrom whom was traded by Omar for garbage set down the Mets in the 9th. (I know it wasn't really personal but Lindstrom probably really wanted to end our season) As usual our lack of a bench and depth killed us.... BTW explain to me how a guy hitting .340 didn't make it off the bench? What kind of bothers me is these Yankee idiots coming in here? For what? The Yankees are in the playoffs right? They won the division? Oh that's right they stopped playing meaningful games in August........ I've never had a problem with Kurt but I find it somewhat low class that you would come in here with a personal vendetta that could have been resolved with a PM but you went out of your way to insult 3rd which is bullshit.
You know the Red Sox winning the series would be worth it to see Kurt turn into Suzyn Waldman again........
As fun as it would be, I'd rather see an NL team win, since they're the ones who actually play baseball.
I don't know how you could be. I would have been surprised if the Mets had actually made the playoffs. if there is anything this team has showed the past two seasons is a complete inability to perform in the clutch, especially on offense. even yesterday's win foreshadowed todays loss because the team couldn't hit then, either. the bullpen blew this season, and the offense wasn't worth shit if trailing in the late innings. both were an equal problem, and when, ultimately, the point of the game is to outscore your opponents, you should have the ability to score runs late in the game if the bullpen gives up a few. the Mets couldn't, and once teams got a few late runs they were dead in the water. I find it slightly enjoyable that Omar's answer to last years offensive ineptitude made the final out of the season. thanks, Omar.
I guess it's just the manner that they lost with Shoensuck getting blasted by a scrub. Maybe I shoulnd't be surprised considering that's how the season went. What I find funny is Lindstrom who Omar traded for Adam Bostick and Jason Vargas (yeah exactly) closed the door on our season and Shea.
Theres no bitterness, your the one who came in here looking to create a disturbance and you've succeded at that.
For the 4th time...I have no problem w/ you or any other met fan. In fact I feel for you...I really hope you guys rebound next year...NY baseball success is a fun thing to spectate and something i root for. My problem is w/ one specific poster. But if you're gonna call me out personally..even AFTER my explanation..I will respond.
Hey no hard feelings I just think it's bush league that you came in this thread a week after whatever happened (I don't know) and attack somebody.
