The blowing of Manning's cock is officially at an all time high. The Media acts like he was throwing the ball to Larry, Curly, and Moe last year, and you can just replace Decker, Welker, and even Moreno with a bunch of scrubs and they will be just fine. I am sure if Demarius Thomas left they would say he is garbage too.

Emmanuel Sanders is so overrated it's not even funny too. The guy averaged 46 yards per game last year and he had the 10th best QB in the league (Big Ben) throwing him the football.. Kerley averaged 44 yards per game with a rookie QB that was a disaster at times.

I would hope Decker benefited from Manning throwing him the rock. If not, then Decker needs a WR coach.

Even though Geno is no Manning, Decker won't have to share catches with Demaryius Thomas. Nelson & Kerley will get their looks, but Decker will get 50% of the lobs, about twice as many as he got/game in Denver. So it should avg out, maybe even better than in Denver.

Calvin, Dez, Julio, Marshall right now is probably who could do it. That's why "#1 receiver" is such a strange term to me. It's basically the "elite" of WR talk.

Fitz and Andre a few years ago.

    Soxxx. To your point.
Therefore, given that definition for a #1 receiver, then Decker will clearly be the Jets #1, period end of story. The opposing D will most always assign the Number one CB to cover Decker, and at time even provide safety help. As such he needs to be instrumental more than the rest of the WR corps in making this team successful. How, I don't really care if it's 50, 60 or 80 catches. It's helping win games.
Could Decker be the # 1 in Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas or GB, to name a few, hell no, but who really gives a shit about that. There is only about six or so supremely dominant WR that demand the constant vigilance of a true #1. These players force coaches to spend sleepless nights game planning against them, game in and game out. None of the them are normally available in free agency without paying a kings ransom. Decker was the best we could do for our team.

So going back to this buffon's comment about Decker, what the fuck was his point? ....that he is not a true number 1 the likes of Jones, Megatron, Marshall and Green? Oh my, what an insightful observation.

ESPN via Mark Schlereth has made the point loud and clear to us fans, obviously each team will have a #1 receiver, even if it's by default. Wish we could say the same for #1 analysts at ESPN.

Sanders will probably have better fantasy numbers than Decker, because his QB is Peyton Fucking Manning.
To say that Decker isn't a WR1 is pants on your head retarded. He's OUR WR1!
To say that Decker will have 400 receiving yards total is also pants on your head retarded, unless you foresee him getting seriously injured. Last year's, cough cough, WR1 Kerley had 523 yards in 12 games with Geno as a rookie! Come on.
I put Decker at 65 rec, 850 yds, 6 TDs, as a floor, assuming he stays healthy. That reflects the greater skillset he brings as well as improved QB play.

I'm not saying Decker isn't good I think he's a really good num 2,but he doesn't have that big play ability that Holmes had.Holmes could turn a 2 yard play into a 45 yard td.Decker is a great guy to have to move the chains

What's so strange about it? He is the "#1 receiver" on this team based on his talent and contract. Whether you or he likes it or not he will be treated like a "#1 receiver" by the teams we face this year. You best believe Revis will not be following Nelson wherever he lines up.

I see the bold a lot in reference to Idzik's moves. You get the feeling that this would be said regardless of who the player was.

I'm not sure about where Revis will be playing, but for the entire preseason and TC, from what I have read, he's been covering the left side of the defense exclusively.

I'm not sold on Belichick being that one dimensional, but since Decker usually plays the opposite side of the field, I'm guessing that Revis won't be shadowing Decker for an entire game.

I find it funny that Schlereth has openly mocked "Elite Quarterback" talk, then turns around and says Decker isn't a #1 receiver.

It wasn't meant to be taken literally. The main point is that if/when Belicheat wants to use Revis in the capacity Rex did, which was to eliminate the other team's best/#1 WR, it's safe to assume it won't be Nelson when faces the Jets.

I guess Decker can prove him wrong..or right so what does it really matter what he thinks? He gets paid to get people talking and obviously he has.

Well he didnt lie about him not being a #1, but that doesnt really mean shit. He's still a very good WR that is a huge upgrade over these practice squad pups the jets have to work with (Exclude Jery Kerl). He probably will only have about a 50-60 catch season...duhhh... its the jets, we run heavy and have game managing, west coast offense (or at least thats what we want them to be) type QB's ALWAYS (exclude Favre, but fuck him). Long as we have a good season capitalizing in the redzone is all that matters to me. We got tall guys at WR & TE that should be able to make that happen. Let the RB committee do the dirty work getting us there with a little dink and dunk help from Geno along with some QB scrambles.

As far as tripping goes i never heard of it i heard Decker's footwork is like smooth jazz out there. As far as whining goes, that's probably a habit he picked up seeing every other WR in the league do it, they are divas with huge egos that's what they do when they don't capitalize.

May be. Personally, I don't think we could have done any better than decker based on available talent? Can you think of some other?

Maybe DeSean Jackson, but I'm not sold on that being the case.

For the WR position, it may actually be true. I just see "the best we could do" a whole lot nowadays.
