Everyone will keep making excuses for Sanchez on this board until he is ran out of town. He is not a franshise quarterback and if he doesnt make the playoffs this year it will be even worse. Mathew Stafford was the real qb in this class and he is showing it this year
Freeman is good too. He is actually playing better this year than his stats would indicate and besides it is just three games. His numbers will improve. Also, I believe he is 2 years younger than Sanchez.
Actually it's the 3rd week in a row, he threw a pick in the Jags game right after a Cromartir INT but we blew those guys away so people forget about it.
Sanchez also isn't throwing to the best WR in the NFL either. I understand Stafford is very good but let the guy finish a season first before you call him the anointed one.
Too bad we didnt trade up 4 more spots and get Stafford. God Damn that kid is good, seriously he is the real deal and you can argue that Calvin Johnson is amazing, but Stafford is a QB that brings promise to his franchise which i mind you was winless when he came along 3 years ago. Sanchez has had a better situation with better coaching and a much better supporting cast and still has yet to progress. Im tired of blaming it on shotty, god i remember years ago it was all blamed on Paul Hackett and seriously all OC suck, Cam Cameron sucks and he beat us today. If a QB is the "real-deal" he can get it done with audibles and hot routes similar to brady and Manning. But to contradict what I said earlier, sanchez needs to be given the opportunity to do this and with the complex routes that schotty insists on running which take a half hour to develop we really cant get anything done. Heres to watching stafford turn into a superstar, and next year watching Bradford do the same. Some QBs just have it and others DONT. Ill let you be the judge
Bradford is a tough one to figure. His WRs are shitty but he was overrated last year too. Of the QBs drafted since 2009, I can't put Bradford above Stafford, Freeman or Newton at this time.
Rams' OL blows, too. He was definitely overrated last year, but it's tough to gauge how he's playing when his OL and WRs don't give him much help. He's getting the shit kicked out of him right now.
It's amazing to me how little people pay attention to that. Stafford throws many passes that would be awful if thrown to anyone else, but Johnson makes the play simply because he's that much better than everyone else. I keep hearing about all of this talent the Jets have on offense, but I'm sure not seeing too much of it so far. Keller seems to be a 3 catches for 40 yards kind of guy, Burress has been very hit or miss, and Holmes is too small to outjump anyone for the ball. LT is a third down back, and Greene has shown nothing. Sanchez has shown little that's very special this year, which puts him right in line with everyone else on offense.
That's true. I'm also have reservations about his leadership skills. I know it is really tough to gauge from my living room, but he doesn't appear to have the fire of Stafford, Freeman, Newton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, etc. Bradford seems more Carson Palmer-ish or Rick Mirer-like in terms of intensity.
If fucking TOM fuckin' BRADY was back there he would have had the same exact stats that Sanchez did tonight. Hell, he would have been out of the game by the 2nd quarter, so I don't wanna hear this shit. He's a 3rd year QB in perhaps one of the worst schemes in the league behind a totally inept offensive line. What the fuck did you expect the guy to do tonight? The gameplan has been the same for every fucking game, I don't even think Schotty has specific gameplans for each game because EVERY game is scripted the same exact way. I think if Sanchez was drafted on any team with a decent offensive coordinator who is actually known for developing QB's that the kid would be flourishing.
I agree with you somewhat, but I don't really think you could put this all on Schotty. The offensive line right now isn't really giving them a shot.
I agree on Bradford. I'd like to see a bigger body of work from Stafford. And I'd like to see him stay healthy for an extended period of time. I don't look at Sanchez any differently than I did at the beginning of the year. He's a good to very good young QB who has the potential to be great.
He seems to have improved somewhat from year to year. The only thing he needs to work on is not turning the ball over. This game tonight was bad but I'm not ready to count him out. He wont put up great numbers but I can see him being a poor mans big Ben.
I think the Jets need to worry less about turn overs. I think the coaches need to open up the play calling and let him take some chances. Few QBs can play well without a running game.
I'm not exactly putting this all on Schotty, Sanchez does need to practice better ball security and what-not and our o-line is fucking horrid, but there's no excuse for our offense to be this bad all the time. It's shameful. Also, the offensive coordinator is responsible for making a college drafted athlete into a good professional QB and he's doing a poor job with Sanchez, and while some of it is on Sanchez a lot of it is on Schottenheimer. We could have drafted Stafford or Freeman and we would be getting very similar results.
I am getting tired of Sanchez continuing to look like an inexperienced rookie. It's his third year already, and so far he has not shown any significant improvement from his first year. 11-35, 119 yards, 4 turnovers in as big as a must win game that you can have in the first month of the season. Franchise quarterbacks who are supposed to be able to lead their team to a championship simply cannot play this bad on the road after a tough loss the previous week, and another road game against your biggest rivals coming up. But this is exactly what Sanchez did - because he is NOT a franchise QB. He is at best a somewhat serviceable, mediocre QB who absolutely MUST have a dominant defense AND strong running game to look even remotely like a good QB.
Blocking is not important. It's all about stats. A real elite QB can complete 82% of their passes for 5 TD's when they don't have any time to throw and are on their backs after every play. Enjoy your Madden.
