I understand that but I want Geno to be pulled if he sucks. Getting benched isn't the end of the world. I hope Geno plays well so we don't have to "miss" Sanchez or even ponder putting Simms in the game.
Sanchez has 0 trade value..they tried trading him this winter and couldn't even get a late rounder for him. Everybody knows he will be cut so why pay for him when you can pick him up for free?
Some of you really deserve to watch Geno stink up the joint the next two months. Don't get me wrong, a part of me isn't too sorry that Rex looks like an even bigger idiot for putting Sanchez in the game now that the injury is in fact serious, but actually wishing the guy hurt's pretty bad. Then again this is a fanbase that once cheered CHAD getting hurt and Kellen Clemens coming in the game lmao.
I was referring to pulling the trigger too quickly. I expect a couple of rocky games from Geno as he gets his feet wet in the NFL. But honestly, the Jets need to evaluate if Geno has what it takes or if they need to look at the QB in the next draft, which should be a deeper QB draft. Then again I look at this season as a rebuilding year for the Jets, fortunately in the NFL rebuilding is only a 1 or 2 season affair as opposed to Baseball which can take years to rebuild a team.
If Geno struggles, it'll give the coaching staff a chance to have a look at Matt Simms without being compelled to go to Mark if they need to to decide whether they do have a QB on their roster or if their scouting department needs to up the scouting on the upcoming draft class. Never like an injury to a player though, especially a Jet.
I dont get why people see this as a good thing. We have less depth at the QB position right now. If Geno struggles or gets hurt we might as well forfeit.
Team has to be all in on Geno now. We saw the Tebow fiasco last year, having a big #2 weakened our #1 during the year. Give him 16 games...cross fingers that it works out.
Sad news. You lot can celebrate in the streets right now if you want, but if Geno blows then we will wish we had Sanchez as a backup option.
I dont wish him hurt, never did and never would. But he is diagnosed now with a shoulder injury and is not available. So Im glad we can move on. If he was on the field i would support him, but he is not. I am tired of his play, and glad he may no longer see the field for us. But wishing him an injury, that is not what I said or insinuated.
