I would have to check other QBs, but we are 4-12 in Sanchez's career when he throws 2 picks or more. We rarely win "in spite of him". We he plays worse than average we lose 75% of the time. 2 of those 4 wins were in the result of Sanchez leading a 4th quarter winning drive. So yeah this "in spite" of Sanchez winning is off base. When he plays bad, we lose.

Lions are 3-9 when Stafford throws 2 or more picks. So they lose 66% of the time.

Bucs are 3-11 when Freeman does it. So they are worse than the Jets at winning "despite the QB"

    Romo and Boys are 4-14.

Giants are 14-24 when Eli does it. So they win over 50% of the time when their QB throws two picks.

Now if he is holding back the passing offense, completely different argument that I can agree with. But winning in despite of him hasn't really happened much. When we lose, it's because he is sucking.

Luckily I'm the only one concerned with my own flaws, but I've started to notice that I'm slowly fading away at times when watching games now, due to have given up on "Muck" (thx Big Blocker).

Would be so fucking typical if we won the next four games, still don't make the playoffs and all this maintains Ryan's conviction that #6 still is the future... so we get to enjoy this fucking failfest all over again next season.

I know I come off as a darkside prophet, but I'm afraid I just might be one until Mr Sanchez has been sent away. There is nothing to be salvaged from that guy.

Probably not, but we have other holes we need to fill. I wouldn't mind another season from Sanchez IF it meant we shored up the LB and OL positions in the draft. The next year (or year after so 3 more drafts) we find a replacement. I would rather keep Sanchez than reach for a QB just because we hope they will become amazing. Especially with the way this team "builds" around a QB, I would rather not reach

the more sanchez throws, the higher the chance that we lose the game. we arent going to win with him throwing alot, because such a higher percentage of his throws have a negative impact. and many have a huge negative impact.

When sanchez has thrown 25 passes or less the jets are:

    14-4 (regular season)
    3-0 (post season)

When sanches throws more then 25 passes the jets are:

    17-23 (regular season)
    1-2 (post season)

Those numbers arent even close. Basically, if the jets dont have to ask sanchez to win the game or make throws, they are an outstanding team. if they require mark to make plays, they are a bad team.

Doesn't that make sense though? You run more when winning and throw more with losing in a "traditional" offense which is what we have. Shouldn't this also led to the FO actually improving the OL or RB groups so that they could be consistently effective.

When Flacco has thrown 25 passes or less:
    Regular season: 20-2
    Playoffs: 3-0
    Total: 23-2

When Flacco has thrown more than 25 passes:
    Regular Season 23-20
    Playoffs: 2-4
    Total: 25-24

When the Ravens don't ask Flacco to do much, they are OUTSTANDING, even better than the Jets. When they ask Flacco to throw the ball, they are average. What a shocker. The more a QB throws, the worse the record gets. No surprise. It makes sense for probably all the non elite QBs in the league.

When Smith has started and thrown 25 passes or less
    Regular Season: 18-12-1
    Playoffs: N/A
    Total: 18-12-1

When Smith has started and thrown more than 25 passes
    Regular Season: 20-24
    Playoffs: 1-1
    Total: 21-25

Edited in Alex Smith. Shows the same story. When asked to throw less, the team plays better. No surprise.

Personally, I don't see why more teams don't use ground and pound. It shortens the game and it exhausts opponents defense.

Throwing the ball may be pretty, but you don't have to constantly do it to win. Sometimes, good old smash mouth football works well too.

The rules favor the QB and the passing game. One elite QB can overcome more weaknesses than an elite RB. So if you get that one QB, you can win more regular season games with less talent than an elite player at any spot on the offense. Come playoff time, you still need that ground and pound/defense, but regular season you can get by without one if you have an elite QB. Peyton/Tom have been doing it for a lot of their careers
