this means sanchez also throws the long ball as well as anyone else.

we have two qbs who throw the best long balls in the game!

To some extent the Tebow hype and circus works in our favor. Any time you put Tebow on the field, even if just lining up at HB, defenses will pay extra attention to him. They're going to assume that it's a special package and he's the feature. He could be the best decoy this league has ever seen.

the great thing about this comment is that it makes no f'ing sense.

nobody is claiming Tebow doesn't posses the same inefficiencies as Sanchez, so Tebow improving his 3 and outs is completely irrelevant to Sanchez solidifying his position by cutting them down. this is why Jets fans are looking so outright f'ing stupid in their criticism of Tebow, because they don't even know how to make credible criticisms.

One thing is for sure, what ever defense we're facing will be calling a lot more timeouts just due to the confusion on that side of the ball.

Any time Tebow is on the field (with or without Sanchez) in a 'new' formation that hasn't been studied.....timeout!

Does anyone actually understand that Denver was the worst team in the league the two years before Tebow went under center (31 games before?)

The team sucked . They were even ranked 25th in rushing offense and then went to #1 .

What Tebow accomplished was impressive when viewed objectively so yeah he led the league in 3 n outs, we are not talking the greenbay packers here we are talking the worst team in the league prior to Tebow ..and their offensive coordinator refused to run the spread until mid way through the 4th quarter almost every game further gimping the offense.

DENVER SUCKED it is a miracle they advanced to the divisional playoff game here is the proof (you can not dispute the numbers below)

7-24 WORST TEAM IN THE NFL IN 31 GAMES BEFORE TEBOW (DENVER BRONCOS )

    2-8 2009 (last 10 games of season)

    4-12 2010

    1-4 2011 (first 5 games of season )

7-4<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Tebow in as QB 2011 NO OTHER PLAYER CHANGE (team effort but he was the catalyst)

    Playoff win +1

They drafted decently well the past two years (Von Miller, Rahim Moore, Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas is alright)

Isn't this a Tebow thread because this conference call was in response to the Tebow media day?

But really Sanchez needs to start being a man. Grow some cahones and do everything Tebow does and more. For example, if Tebow spends hours in the film room, Sanchez needs to do the same. Also he shouldn't be scared of blocking a CB or a Safety on the wildcat it just makes him look bad.

I thought it was hilarious. The bad part was he did then try to make a block and get a penalty for it.

Sanchez is very good at handling the media. I don't think I can pull up a time where he ever said the wrong thing. I'm sure he will be fine. I definitely think we will see a new Sanchez, one who is hopefully 100% healthy

sanchez is probably not the confrontational, f you type...it's not a matter of cajones it's asking him to be what he isn't...not really fair jets put him in that position in a way

Elvis Dumervil, the 2009 sack king, was coming off of season-ending pectoral surgery from 2010. Wasn't able to rehab at facilities during lockout.

He proceeds to miss the first 2 games of the season and didn't round into shape until a week or two after Tebow became the starter. Before Tebow, Dumervil had zero sacks in 2011. With Tebow as the starter, Dumervil had 9.5 sacks in 11 games.

So yeah I think that is a pretty important upgrade.

Rex didnt actually come out and say Tebow will play 20 snaps every game! He said he could play 2 plays a game or he could play 20 snaps depending on how it works against certain teams. Media just blows everything up. And do ppl forget that in the 2 winning seasons we had a guy named Brad Smith who came in at wild cat and threw the ball. Now imagine a guy with a slightly better arm like Tebow????

What makes you think that Sporano will do some different stuff? He didn't bring the WC to Miami. David Lee did. What abourt Sporano in Dallas or Miami leads you to believe he will be innovative?

Sanchez is not good in the shotgun. It takes away play action.

If the Jets run out of a shotgun next season to accommodate the wildcat, well it's probably going to be pretty ugly when Sanchez is in.

Yeah, but if you actually read the transcript, every damn question is about Tebow. They should have called it "Mark's conference call to discuss Tebow."

A bit off topic maybe, but what I don't understand is this concept that people keep bringing up that Tebow can play multiple positions to keep him on the field. He has never been in a 3 point stand playing RB, he has never blocked an incoming blitzer from the RB position, he has never before been a lead blocker for a RB, he has never before played WR, he has never before played TE, he has never caught a pass in a game, he has never been in motion, he has never run a route in a game, etc, etc, etc.. Am I to believe that he is so awesome that he can just easily master any of these things at an NFL level and become a productive player? What am I missing? IMO, the only real option is that he comes in and plays some sort of gimmick QB position like he did in Denver. Playing another position he'll likely get Sanchez killed or at least be ineffective. Hope I'm wrong...

I think people are hoping, if you have Sanchez in shotgun with Tebow and McKnight flanking him, all of sudden you cause some confusion. Most of the time the Jets could direct snap to Tebow on the play and have him run an option with McKnight. They could snap to Sanchez who could hand off on a draw to McKnight or Tebow. The dangerous part is he could playaction to Tebow and throw the ball. Or he could fake the handoff roll out one way while Tebow goes the other. The downside if Sanchez throws out of a formation like this is that Tebow might have to block. If Sanchez sees or anticipates a blitz he could audible to a handoff to Tebow so he doesn't have to block.

People, like myself, are hoping we can find a way to get Tebow out there with Sanchez at QB. This would cause much more confusion than having Tebow go out there normally in the WC with Sanchez off the field or at WR. Having Tebow lining up at RB or something there would have everyone focus on him and it could be great decoy if he could throw a decent block. It is more hope Tebow can do it since it would make him being on the field more dangerous
