its too early for me to really get into the draft but at first thought this is a real possibility.

manziel has a little favre in him and thats gonna attract woody.

this is shaping up to be quite the offseason where the jets may grab more headlines than during the season.

He's going to Matt Barkley himself.

personally I hope they use their earlier picks to bolster the supporting cast, then grab Mettenberger later as his stock drops due to injury. The kid looked like an NFL player to me

Mariotta may improve his performance, but I think he's the 2nd QB taken then ( after Winston)

Clearly you've missed watching the games this year. Besides QB, there are other positions on offense who have starting roles given to players either undrafted FAs or who couldnt make the rosters of other teams. They are starting for us.
Your concept of "lets draft a prospective franchise QB every year --- sooner or later we have to hit" is not what will work here. Just look at Seattle & San Francisco.

All of the sudden, this QB class doesn't look too hot. I was never too big on many of these guys anyways.

    Or media bonanza.

    Either way, can Woody resist?

There were never any Lucks or RGIIIs hell i like Cam better than Bridgewater as a prospect but that just may only be me. No truly elite Qbs but still there is way more good-great talent in this class than there usually is.

    Why??

Manziel or Carr round one. Take whichever is there. This is a no brainer to me. If both are gone then I'd try to get Fales round 3 and take one of Mettenberger or Murray with the other 3rd to 5th.

This is a smart move for Mariota. Another year to refine his mechanics will help his progress.

With the amount of picks and cap room we can have, its definitely not impossible to rebuild this offense even if we were to draft a QB in round 1. The most important thing though is that we would have to be dedicated to rebuilding this offense and not dance around it like fairies and watch it fail again.

We can sign a quality guard in FA, maybe a WR like Tate and a CB. Then in the draft we could potentially draft a QB in round 1 (assuming in this scenario we think he can be a franchise QB), and then follow up the rest of the draft mostly offensive players, especially in the earlier rounds. Its a deep WR class, and we can land a quality starter in round 2, and even round 3.

This is the fear with so many QB prospects all in one class....why would so many declare all at once(Unless they were seniors like Fales)? I think the Jets will pick top 10 and will have a shot at all QBs besides Bridgewater unless someone trades ahead of us so the Jets have a shot at any QB they want if they do choose to go that route. I still dream of Mike Evans as I don't think any team ahead of us maybe outside of Cleveland(They could get the QB/WR combo in round 1, interesting what order with it). Imagine Evans/Manziel with Josh Gordon already there and then they take a RB in round 2..... oh my god Cleveland.

It is why it would not shock me to see Mannion stay too.

Get his partner in crime in Evans in round 1 and then if Manziel is around for our high 2nd round pick, then I and I think the Front Office could be tempted/persuaded. Manziel would need to have done something very silly at the combines(Interview poorly like throw teammates/coaches/school under the bus or just not do well at the drills) to have that happen though.

Manziel doesn't have the body to continue playing the way he has in college. That plus all the crap he has gotten in trouble for makes me not want him. and AJ too me looks much less likely to be a bust than Manziel.

Manziel definitely needs to add some weight, but I dont doubt that with an NFL organization he can add 10 pounds. If he actually is 6'1 and 210, adding 10 pounds would be solid.

He will probably have to change his playing style a good amount, but he can make every throw and he's an electric player.

His pocket passing has improved a lot this year. He throws the occassional floater, that is the one thing I'll criticize.
