Talking about actual draft day. Which pick gets the biggest Booooos? and Which player get the biggest cheers at #4?
either way it should be fun to watch.

I'm thinkin Davis would get a BOOO because of past TE drafts........... Mario will get a cheer............... and D'Brick will get a mixture

I'm gonna love it when we take Davis, most of you bitch, then come this season he makes the most clutch plays and scores more TDs than any of our receivers. The only problem with that being he doesn't have a chance to beat out the established guys, yet...Gates, Gonzalez, even Heap are kinda automatic in putting up the numbers unless they get hurt.

and even though the Saints don't really need Mario as much as they do Hawk or D'brick, they are going to take Mario. It's the same case, the guy is worth too much to pass on in terms of safety and impact.

Hhahaha... you know what would be my best ever draft scenario.... Mario Williams at number 4 and trade #29 and second rounder to move to 13 and take winston justice (who is just as good as D'Brickshaw, without him Bush would not have been anywhere as near as good)

First, you are wrong about drafting Davis.. and I am not going to restate my views because you can read the other posts in this thread... and 2nd... who really knows if Davis is going to equal the production of Gats, Gonzo... they are some of the greatest TE's ever... you can't just assume that a TE like Davis will equal that... Draft D'Brick and keep Pennington/Ramsey on their feet

The biggest boos would be Davis or Hawk.

Williams would probably leave the crowd quiet at the pick and buzzing afterwards.

Ferguson would get a small cheer.

Leinart would bring the house down.

None of those reactions is necessarily indicative of the player's value to the Jets, just of the fans expectations.

Edit: Cutler would draw a few cheers amid the shocked silence and then a sustained booing in my opinion. On the 4 that is.

Any pick that is not a QB, will be looked at with skepticism by the Jet fans. Some of those people who will be at the draft are not even heavy college football watchers. Just like the majority of people, they watch the highlights and read the newspapers. The only people alot of us know about are the ones that the media feeds to us....

About a week, Vernon Davis was looked upon as a joke when first mentioned as being a possible alternative for the Jets. People talked as if it was the stupidest idea in the world. But as more people started to check him out, and started to really think about the 10 years of veteran garbage we have at TE now, the pick didn't look so stupid anymore. It may not be the popular pick, but it is a pick that I don't think people would be too upset about, except for the fans who will be attending the draft.

You guys are crazy with bashing Davis at #4...
    1) OK we have THREE QB's that can start!! There's absolutely no need to take a QB at # 4 especially when none of them are a given...NOT THIS YEAR!!!
    2) Taking D'Brick at #4 would be the biggest mistake ever...even if he makes the pro bowl every freakin year, you have to realize that most (roughly 85%) of the OL in this league were NOT drafted in the first round...hence, the Jets can focus on a lineman at any other time in the draft, but not #4 overall...that's just plain stupid...
    3) By complying to the two above statements, we are left with this...
Take Super Mario, Hawk, or Davis at #4 in that same order depending on who is available...

You take Super Mario first because he will be a beast in the league for years to come...reminds me of a Jason Taylor/ Julius Peppers mix...you just CANT pass on him IF available at #4...unlimited potential and will play every play on D...

You take Hawk if Super Mario is gone...Hawk and Vilma would be the best duo of LB's in this league for the next DECADE!!! You don't need any further explanation than that...the fact that we would have those two awesomely talented and smart LB's just gives me chills thinking about it...and think about this too...if there are so many "great" LB prospects in this draft, AND Hawk is the CLEAR CUT #1, doesn't that tell you something???

You people piss me off when you say that we tried drafting TE's in the first round and it didn't work...the people that drafted those guys aren't Tangini...I honestly don't think they are dumb enough to take a guy like Johnny Mitchell...Davis has the potential to be better than Gates, better than Shockey, better than Gonzalez....now why everyone is freaking out that we might take a guy like that, I have no clue what-so-ever...he can be OUR Reggie Bush...he can line up anywhere and everywhere, like TE, RB, HB, WR, and play in the slot as well....he will cause havoc and confusion against opposing defenses...

Now to me, all the above makes the most sense, and I don't see how you can go against it...if you do go against it, please intrigue me and explain...this should be good...

Vernon will be our pick at #4.It won't take long to make this pick. He is the the impact offensive player we are missing. We will get our OT at 29 or 35.Go Jets. Can't wait to see #18 in green and white. You can't let past mistakes by incompetent Jet GMs to affect our choice. We must be bold and aggresive.

    1."Super" Mario Williams
    2.Vernon "The Duke" Davis
    3.Trade Down
    4.A.J. Hawk

those are basically the things i want in order. but im open to anything except Brick at 4.

thats just me.and ive clarified numerous times why so im not just going for "hype" picks. if anything ferguson is just as much a "hype" pick as vernon davis, although people like to think not cuz OL is the least talked about position amongst the avg fan.

oh and the first two have nicknames so that makes them better.

Let's look at the position, and it's relative value to the offense. Let's say we didn't have Coles and Jmac and Cotch were our starters (basically 2nd or 3rd tier talents, being generous). If the best WR prospect in years (i.e. Roy Williams, Larry Fitzgerald) is there at 4 do you take him? Of course we would, and there wouldn't even be a debate. Well, our TE's are 3rd tier talent, and the best TE prospect in years will be staring at us at 4. I really don't understand the debate.

Ahh.. another person to argue with... First thing, Don't make it a double standard by saying that most OL first round aren't good and all not evaluating the success rate of First round picks at other positions. That 85% you just threw out there... Did you get that number from somewhere or did you make it up?

You also say that the other Gm's who drafted TE's were not Tangini. Last
time I checked Tennanbaum is in his first year as GM and Mangini his first year as coach. I am not bashing them, but they have not earned the reputation you are giving them. And by the way, there are a lot of great OL prospects in this draft too, so doesn't that telll you something about D'Brick.

So basically I just shot down all of you arguements... try again next time

You don't NEED a superstart TE to be successfull (sp). We have more pressing NEEDS that are necessary to be sucessfull.

are u kidding me, dbrikc is a monster...he made some defensive linemen in the draft move down in mel kiepers mock draft becuz he dominated them in college. i would rahter have dbrick but i wouldnt mind any of these guys, they would all make our team better.
