Sounds like a guy who could move into the 9-hole, and allow Melky to go to the top of the lineup.

    ACK! Ensberg in...

    Gonzalez in for Jeter.

It could be the other way around. Gardner's got incredible speed and is good at getting on base. He's very similar to Ellsbury in Boston, although I think Ellsbury's a better all-around hitter.

Honestly, I really want to see Melky at the top of the lineup. I think he's being wasted at the bottom of lineup.

    What's Gardner's natural position?

I really dislike Matsui and his defense.

Matsui is just embarrassing in left field.

His natural position is CF. He's been playing some LF, though.

Wow, Seattle putting on a clinic showing how to effectively lose a baseball game.

yeah i agree with johnny here, melky should be used at the bottom of the lineup. he doesnt get on base enough to lead off.

    Cox tonight: 1.2 IP 0 ER 0 H 0 BB 2 K

His velocity is starting to return to pre-TJ surgery form. He should be ready for a call up any day now.

    Couple random points...

Alio, you say Molina's only had a few bad weeks... You're right, but the season is only a few weeks old. .207, .220, .307 is awful. I like him a lot, but

As for Gardner, Cashman said Thursday that he would be up if he were righthanded. There's no need for a lefty bat off the bench, since it would likely stunt his development only playing as a defensive/speed guy off the bench.

As for Joba, if you put Peavy or Beckett or Santana or someone like that in the bullpen, they would look dominant, too. 10P10 is right as usual. While it's completely unfair to expect Melancon to do what Joba did, it's realistic to expect him to pitch very well and possibly be the bridge to Mariano. Scouts told Cashman that Joba would be the 2nd best pitcher in the bullpen next to Mariano. Melancon might be the same thing.

Jackson and Tabata still have at least two years to develop. Abreu isn't going anywhere and the idiotic idea of trading Matsui I am sure has passed. So that leaves both him and Damon with another year at least. I think the Yankees may try a trade and sign for Teixeira at the deadline but with Boras as his agent that probably isn't possible. If they do, either Jackson or Tabata could be part of that.

A big sac fly Thurs and a big HR(at the time) last niht. Maybe he's starting come around a bit. I don't expect alot out of him but certainly more than 1 HR at this point.

I hate the cold weather excuse b/c it's cold ion October. Maybe that's why we can't hit in october? and if that's the reason I would get rid of players like that.

No they couldn't. Especially Jackson. They're not going to trade their best hitting prospect for an impending free agent.

Guess which starter Joba will replace in the rotation?

    Moose is cooked.
