*shrugs* Well, like I said, it depends on whether or not there's something else going on... which there could very well be. If there's not something else going on, though... then, yeah, it's on Eiland, and Nardi deserves the praise. Actually, I'm half-Italian, half-Irish... but I enjoy making people feel uncomfortable when they're doing their "joking bigot" thing. It's a hobby of mine.
I'm not getting down on Joba. He's not hurt, so like Cappy said, there's something going on that's got him losing velocity. We all know I think Eiland is a jackass. As for Molina, didn't he have a setback? Not that I really care. Obviously Jorge is still going to catch 4+ games a week. I want Cervelli in as often as possible, and if Molina comes back, he'll play and Cervelli will shuttle back to the minors.
Fair enough, but do you see anything that looks off with him? I can't see anything. Hahahaha, good stuff. Though I don't think the guys in this thread feel ashamed about much. Have you ever seen the things rmagedon and jonnyd reveal in the Bullshit forum?
By the way, I knew u wasn't asian Cappy. Plus, it's okay. I had a Chinese girlfriend and one of my good friends is Chinese, so I can't legally be labeled a racist by my bigotted comments.
Honestly? I do blame Wang's problems on Eiland. Keep in mind, I've never said Wang is unfixable. All I've ever said is that I want him to get fixed outside the rotation.
Yeah, but at some point, it's still up to the pitcher to solve the issue. Using Wang as the example, Eiland knows that Wang's arm slot is all over the place. You can see that from his release points. But Wang seemingly hasn't been able to fix it in-game. I don't know what it is with Joba, but it's definitely odd.
John Sterling bragging about how "fabulous" Phil Hughes is: "If you take out his numbers as a reliever, which I, uhhhhhh, don't have..."
I see two things, one of which might be mandated by the team for health reasons. 1. Joba doesn't have that "locked leg" landing anymore. He had it for one game this year, and it's the game he was throwing gas. I wouldn't be surprised if the Yanks are coaching him to change this to prevent him from blowing his arm/knee out. 2. This might tie into the first, but it doesn't look like he's letting loose. He might be overdoing the whole pacing himself thing as a starter. He might be hesitant about taxing his shoulder after last year's injury. Or he might just be drinking every night and still hung over at game time. I do think it's likely that there's something going on that's not just "Eiland's fault." Because when Joba was starting last year, his average fastball was over 95mph before the injury. He was averaging 92-93 on his FB when he came back. And that's what we're seeing this year, except for a few occasions. So we know he CAN hit it, but he isn't. *shrugs* I avoid that forum for the sake of my sanity/intelligence.
