throw him at the #2... Milliner returns to #1... McDougle can return and take Wilson's spot (hopefully, he has proving to do)... we can save a shit load of money now at the position... The more realistic jets would........ Bring in a has been CB to take William's spot, move Williams to the nickel where we will find he struggles and then we'll say Williams sucks... of course. good times.
williams has earned a chance to compete for the #2, not be handed it. mcdougal, i read projects better on the outside than nickel. jets need to bring in a decent f.a. and a draftee to compete with walls, mcd, millner and williams.
might be, but when he doesn't cost much to bring into camp and he has experience you keep him around until you are sure you have the upgrade. this goes for alot of players people are calling for to be cut
ehhhh... i don't think we're worried about how much low depth chart player cost with as much cap space as we have, there HAS to be corners out there that will be cheap but way better than walls. lol. I really don't think he's good at all and i actually was one of the guys begging rex to put him in when all our injuries started rolling in...boy was i wrong
Overall he's been solid, I would bring him back for depth next year. Milliner will still be a starter, I want to see what he can do in a full season without injury. We will also see what we got in McDougle. I think a CB should be a top target for us in FA as well.
williams has not embarrassed himself out there, and that is the best you can say about a lot of CBs in the league. He should improve with experience. he has already shown that he understands the learning curve.
Williams has definitely shown us something and deserves a shot to be the #2 next year. He has (so far) done as well, or better, then could be expected of him as a UDFA. Lot's of guys have gotten out to fast starts just to crash and burn, but let's not start shitting on Williams until he proves he is one of them.
