You're bad at reading apparently. Unless the Jets drafted Geno in 2009 when I joined this message board? No one had to "say" anything about Syracuse, it's your avatar. I don't have "Elite Accuracy" on my Geno avatar.
This poll is pretty split...I imagine if we continue to pile up the L's this topic is going to get more prevalent.
I never brought up Syracuse in this thread, that was you. You mentioned you went to every home game Geno ever played yet you're not a WVU fan? Lol. I just figured you were that Superhippy dude regaling us about Geno's elite accuracy. Go have fun defending Geno. _
Wow...you are the definition of a shit stirrer, who is essentially a pot calling the kettle black. I never mentioned I'm a "WVU fan", while I am, never brought it up, simply stating I have seen more of Geno than you have. So superhippy...that's why I stated in my VERY FIRST POST IN THIS THREAD that I didn't believe Geno was the long term answer anymore. Like I said before... learn to READ the ENTIRE content of a post before pissing around your half assed rah-rah opinions.
Agree this is a good idea. I like Cooper a lot as a playmaker, but the delta between him and WRs 2,3,4,5 is probably not as big as a top QB/OL vs. the next batch. Also, I believe we need to look at the top ILB if there is one, depending where we pick.
You said you saw every home game he's ever played and a bunch more of his games. How else could anyone else take that? What were you a security guard in Morgantown? You're a WVU fan and now you're making excuses for Geno. You're spouting his college stats like they mean something in the pros. His stats at WVU mean NOTHING in the NFL. His numbers were the product of a system combined with otherworldly talent around him and weak competition. _
I'm so fn scarred from penny getting hurt, clemens busting, mark busting, and now geno..it's just like i have no confidence drafting yet another new qb. Unless every single damn so called expert calls the guy a can't miss qb, i have next to no faith.
Just like you man...I've been hurt the past 15 years with the shit luck with QB's. Just gotta hope one works out
I wonder if a team like Tampa or Tennessee will be willing to trade up to number 1 for Marcus Mariota? Obviously its no guarantee we get the number 1 pick, but I would like to be able to get a Rams for RG3 style haul for the number 1 pick. I know some people love Mariota, but I just dont really see it. I could be wrong, but he isnt who I want.
i think the next qb we get will be a lot better now that we finally have a solid core at wr with decker, harvin and kerly i feel like a big problem with especially sanchez and geno is they never got the chance to develop chemistry with WR's. we look like we have a core locked up for awhile which im excited about ( i would love to add DT or dez to make us truly have the best weapons in the NFL but thats a pipe dream) but even now we have a pretty good group of playmakers which im excited about
if hes there i think we take him tbh. We dont have a bad team! i know at 1-7 it looks bad but if mariota is the real deal i think our only need are corners, 1 more wr and o line depth. We also have plently of cap room. I dont think we need a haul like the rams, we have a lot of pieces in the right places.
Well if he's the "real deal" I dont have any problem. QB is a massive need, so if Mariota is as good as many here think he is, sign me up. I just dont think he's as good as everyone else does.
I'd be salivating over making something similar to the Browns side of the Sammy Watkins trade. There should be several quality prospects at both OL and LB still on the board if we ended up at ~10th overall after trading down. I honestly like Mariota, but I'm not sure that the Jets current coaching staff could develop him into a successful pro QB. This is as more my skepticism with the Jets ability to develop players at offensive skill positions than it is an indictment of Mariota, though. If he came from a more read-intensive offense and took more snaps under center while playing at his current level, I'd be a lot more comfortable. I'm not a fan of Winston despite his superior pocket presence - while the guy can absolutely play football, his off-the-field issues are a dealbreaker for me when you're drafting the guy to be the face of your franchise. In the wake of the Harvin trade we don't need a space-oriented playmaker as badly, either, so I'd prefer to look at big-bodied receivers to fill our other outside position and let Harvin operate primarily out of the slot. The pick I'd really like to see us make is grabbing DGB in the late 2nd/early 3rd round. Possible massive headcase, with definite off-the-field issues, but is a ridiculous combination of size and speed with an All-Pro talent ceiling.
He has only thrown 1 INT this year, granted it's the PAC-12, but still, pretty impressive. He does have some issues with fumbles, but that's something that can be worked on.
