Good post, other than that we do care about Smith's poor stats. But I find laughable the notion that we can blame all of Smith's problems on Marty. Marty in fact was an above average OC. He was perhaps a poor fit with Ryan, and on top of that we don't know how much Ryan should be blamed for coaching problems. I jsut don't know where this comes from that we should all expect Gailey to make a world of difference with Smith.
I don't think Marty was above average. Maybe for the Jets. But look at the erratic play calling and the scheme. But Geno wasn't his fault. Him and Lee gave Geno 100%.
man that was classic... but ima WVU fan yes, Geno homer ? not so much.. like I said I'm down to move on but I'd also love to see him get a shot in a system that I know for a fact from watching and rooting for him in college that he can run
Then why do you think the Titans would pass on Mariota? I wasn't trying to say that Mett is worth the 6th pick. But if people think that the Titans will pass on Mariota because they have Mett, doesn't that say that they have great value for Mett and feel he is going to be as good or better than Mariota? If Mett's value is no more than a 5th, I would think that the Titans choose Mariota.
I've been saying this for a while now, but Mariota does not fit what TN does on offense. Mettenberger prob goes in the 2nd to 3rd round if not for those back concerns and the ACL tear. I see the Titans going with Petty in rd 2.
I'm just trying to follow the logic. Q. Will the Titans take Mariota. A. The Titans will pass on Mariota because they have Mett. Q. If Mett is so good, woule you trade a high pick for him? A. No. Mett isn't that good. He isn't worth more than a 5th round pick. If Mett isn't that good and only worth a 5th round pick, why would the Titans pass on Mariota? If he is good enough that the Titans will pass on him, why would he only have a value of a 5th round pick? I'm not trying to be obtuse, I'm trying to understand. Is this how people really feel or more wishful thinking?
Yes you are, intentionally. That's ok. I could explain it to you, I just can't understand it for you too. _
Wishful thinking. Of course the Titans spent the pick so they are more invested in him than we would be trading for him. However if they think MM is their guy then they will draft him. You dont protect players feelings in this league you do what you can to improve.
Well, I don't know much about Chan Gailey's offense, but I doubt he's going to run an Air Raid offense. IMO Geno will still find a way to mess up. He just doesn't have the goods to be an NFL starting QB I was, personally, done with him after the Bills game.
the Titans might not feel Mariota has number 2 overall value...at least in the offense they want to run. if they pass on him, that is the reason why. i don't think it will have much to do with Mett.
The Titans are happy to have the guy on the depth chart, but he was a 6th round pick and they're not going to pass on a good QB prospect because they took him last year. If they think either of the QB's is an A-1 prospect they're going to take him on the 2 if he's there. Only a bad organization passes on an A-1 QB prospect because somebody loves a 6th round pick who has ended the last two seasons on IR or the equivalent.
The game where Geno had more impact on Buffalo's win than any Bills player? yeah, that game was about it for me too. i'm fine with him competing, but he'd need an amazing offseason to earn the nod.
That makes sense. I they think he is a franchise QB, they take him. But if they pass, do you think the Jets take him? Different opinions of his ability or different systems?
I don't think Mariota will free fall unless he has a poor combine etc. I could see another team tradig up before the Jets to draft him.
