So if cros cap number is 15 mill next year it is more then revis would be in a new deal? Something more to it will happen next year
The NY Daily news is saying that Holmes restructured too. They didn't report the amount though. edit:Holmes 2013 salary reduced from 11 mil to 7.5 mil. Another 3.5 mil saved.
15 mil cap hit for Cro next year is awful. And for what, so we can sign Mike Goodson, David Garrard and other mediocre players?
Cromartie is in a contract year next year. He may never see that 15M, if he's cut before (depending on dead money, etc). Or if they want to extend his contract, they can do so and spread the 15M out over a set of years.
Cro's cap hit next year is $5.48M if the Jets cut him. That's what the Jets gave up in this restructure. His cap hit went from $1.25M to to $5.48M in that likely case. In other words he's a cap casualty next year but didn't lose a dime this year in that process. It was a very smart move by the Jets.
This post proving yet again some Jet fans aren't happy unless there's something to be unhappy about. How many years have to go by before you realize guys with huge cap hits tend to restructure (unless they are named Darrelle)? Did you think Holmes would restructure?
This is a surefire sign that Revis is 100% gone. And it's almost a slap in the face to Revis in some ways.
