For 16 games maybe. I imagine that he would be a significant upgrade upon Baxter for the next two or three.
Well, I'm glad Buffalo was able to run on them. But their running game is probably better than ours at this point, unfortunately. This Mangold injury scares the hell out of me. I didn't see the Raiders-Bills game, but against Denver, the Oakland d-line absolutely dominated that football game in the trenches. Even with Mangold, we've been getting manhandled at the point of attack, now take him out? Not good. Then after Oakland, we have Baltimore, who knocked Ben around like a rag doll in the first game with Ngata, and then New England, with Wilfork AND Haynesworth inside, against a rookie center. Not good at all. I might sign up for 1-2 the next 3 weeks. West coast trip, then flying back east to go to Baltimore, then after those 2 tough road games, we have our toughest road game of the season. Throw in Miami at home (who we always struggle against) then San Diego, and there's a good chance we go 2-3 in that time frame. That's why winning the first 2 games was so vital. We won the games we were supposed to at home. Now, when we're at the toughest part of our schedule, without our best offensive player, we at least have 2 wins in the bank already, so going 2-3 wouldn't hurt us so much.
I'm just looking at the silver lining. We still made it to the playoffs last year despite losing to the Ravens at home, and lost one to the Pats on the road. Them winning 13 other games didn't help us in trying to win the division though. Nothing wrong with taking at least some positives from this. Beating Oakland and losing to the Ravens and Pats will have us at 3-2 with a 2-2 AFC record. That isn't the end of the world.
its not the end of the world but its far from a good sign that this team is any different or more prepared to win a SB than last year. if were legit we need to at least win one of the NE and BAL games coming up.
At full strength there's no reason we can't beat either of those teams on the road, but without our best offensive player it's going to be tough, and should be excusable in the event that we lose.
I would agree with you but considering how hard it is to win 3 road games in the playoffs and how dominant Brady has looked, I don't know if we can afford to go 2-3 in any stretch, I think we have to find a way to split either Baltimore or New England and we have no business losing to Miami, they are weak as hell This kind of reminds me of the Steelers last year when they went 3-1 without Big Ben, that solid showing allowed them to secure the bye and helped them get to the Super Bowl, we need to step up if we want to get what has been alluding us these past 2 years.
Miami Played the Pats and then Houston.... Two teams that look like sure playoff contenders.... By the time we play Miami watch them get their #### together and then figure they have a BYE week to prepare and watch as the Jets have to play New England on the road After traveling to the West Coast AND Baltimore..... If I were a betting man, right now I'd take the line and put some money on Miami. @Oak @BAL and @NE is Brutal.... Makes Oakland MUST WIN.
What I should have said is, I do not think he can even pass a physical at this point............that is really bad.
Oh I'm not looking past Miami but they are the 4th best team in the division by a decent margin, with a shaky at best QB weak run game and an overrated defense, if we are as good as we think, we have no business losing to Miami at home.
We have a tough schedule, no doubt, but if we can't beat these teams even without a big name then how do we expect to go down the stretch and compete for a #1 seed? Should be a good test to see what kind of team we really are this season.
Well, New England is also missing their starting Center so there's that. Unfortunately, their O-Line depth is probably far better than ours. This is going to be a tough stretch for sure.
I was looking at NE's schedule but this week probably started their toughest stretch in their schedule with @BUF @OAK us DAL a bye and @PIT these next few weeks will say a lot on if we can compete for the division title.
our lack of vet depth really hurts us here plus the fact our 2nd rd pick is currently M.I.A Tanny has to dial something up as this road trip could be brutal
confirmed, mangold is out 2-3 weeks.... GET WELL SOON NICK. we can only hope hell be back for NE... hloti ngata is going to brutally rape us and enjoy doing it
All the beat writers have confirmed a high ankle sprain, that's it. The estimated time is 2-4 weeks Jets have confirmed nothing. It all depends on how rehab goes. At best he plays not 100% vs Baltimore, at worst he's out past the NE game.
