Fuck Mangold too, we should get rid of him along with Revis, and any other player who thinks he deserves more than he makes. I'd rather us lose with shitty players who are just happy to be in the league than bend to the demands of great players who want to get paid according to their performance. that'll teach those ingrate players, go win elsewhere, Jet fans only care about players who are more dedicated to the team than themselves. I'm sure everyone of you feel the same, and go to work 18 hours a day without any thought about going home or spending tim ewith your family as long as the company needs something.
I'm sure Mangold will be extremely fair when it comes to contract talks as opposed to Revis, but if anyone deserves an extension right now IMO, it's Harris, he hasn't spoken a word and he's only making 500K this season, Harris is our quiet leader and I love his composure during this moment while everyone else acts a fool, I would love to see Harris get his deal first, he won't be that much compared to Revis and Mangold Harris - Mangold - Brick - Revis In that order IMO
As much as it has been said before, the fans need to just chill. This is all part of the business of football. I call it the Kendell factor, cry to the media to put the pressure on the FO to get as close to your demands as possiable. All this crying to the beat guys will not change the simple fact that (ALL) of these players are under contract and are going nowhere fast for the time being. I agree with many of you on the order of resigning these guys Mangold first, Brick second, Harris third and then Revis. I love Revis and the kid deserves top money he has earned it, but, not Al Davis, may he rot in the grave very soon, money... I hate to say it, but the unthinkable may have to happen, Revis plays out the last 2 years of his 3 year deal and then we begin to take offers for the highest bidder for his services. Busting the cap for one player who is not a QB no matter how talented he is, is not worth losing 4 other slightly less talented yet just as important to the team core players. If I were Tanny that's just what I would say to the media, "we love you man, but we love these other guys as well and we have to be fair to everyone. If we give you what you are demading others will be short changed or forced to move to other teams and that is just unacceptable, all to acomadate the demands of one player"! Put the pressure back on the player to be reasonable with there demands for the sake of his fellow teammates
fuck Harris, too. you know he is keeping quiet for his own selfish reasons, not his detriment or the betterment of the team. he needs to go, too.
How is keeping quiet selfish? Should he be outspoken and profess that he doesn't deserve a contract extension and emphasize that he doesn't want to disrupt the team's chances of winning? Its absurd to hate every player that has a bad contract and call them selfish.
Leon was offered 10mil for 4 years as a 3rd down back. That's pretty fuckin good from my perspective. Hmmm, lets see. $10 Million, divided by $100k per year equals - kewl only 97 more years to work at my current salary to make $10mil....And this CUNT LW wanted more. OK ok - they get injured. Here - Take this sledgehammer and break my legs. Then give me my 10 fucking million dollars.... Awesome rant. "...Fuck these Boomers, fuck these yuppies... and fuck everyone, now that I think of it...." -The late great G.C.
This needed a separate post to have a clear thought rather than a rambling rant. To be fair to the players, the top of the Greed Food chain are the owners. The CBA bullshit that is going on is because the owners won't open the fucking books to let the NFLPA see the numbers. C'mon now. If teams are "struggling" so much, whats the problem? Yeah I bet they are.... It's because its a bunch of bullshit. [POLITICAL TIRADE] Its very unfortunate but one of the best principals and ideas this great country of ours was founded on was capitalism. Those same principals are what is runing this country today...from pro sports, to healthcare, to small and big business alike... [/POLITICAL TIRADE]
Looks like "HARK KNOCKS" will be nothing but following contracts!!!!!!!! Just like the year the Chiefs were on, and they followed every move Larry Johnson did until signed his deal.
You can't talk about Revis and Mangold like it's the same situation. Revis has three years left potentially on his contract, but this is Mangold's last year. If Mangold goes down in training camp, he's all done. As far as I know Jets haven't even made Mangold an offer yet, it's not like he rejected their offer and is holding out for more money. I think its reasonable for Mangold to ask for an offer from the Jets going into the last year on his contract.
My prediction: No one will give a shit about or remember this crap after week 1. Its all overblown because there's nothing else to talk about this time of year.
that's the thing with NFL contracts -- every year is essentially the last year of a contract because they aren't guaranteed. Revis and Mangold will be in the same boat if they get hurt.
Mangold has every right to ask for a new contract. Mangold is a favorite in the locker room, hilarious on twitter, and once again his LAST year. That is when you deserve a contract. Revis just being a pussy. Mangold is a class act, he will be much easier to negotiate with and he will be a jet most/all of his career. We will consider him one of the best jets. I love Mangold very unselfish, pay the man!
if he was so unselfish he would actually play out the final year of his contract. his contract doesn't expire until after the season is over. funny how people ignore that to push for Mangold but criticize Revis. hypocrites. either it is selfish to ask for a new contract before your old one is up or it isn't, how many years left is irrelevant.
3 years left on revis. mangolds will be up at the end of this year. Thats a huge difference. If he holdsout then i was wrong but if he doesnt then now and throughout the season we need to continue to negotiate and give him a big extension
the predominant argument is that as long as Revis has a contract he should play that out. then the same goes for Mangold.
