That means winning CHAMPIONSHIPs since that is what the season is played for, Enjoyment is NOT watching them lose games. Being entertained by them means be a elite team not a medicore team like we are. Your statement is pure folly & it is NYJ fans like you who though the years have accepted garbage teams. Be truthful were you entertained during last season? Did you ever endure a 1-15 season & be entertained. Stop with your silliness & grow up & smell the coffee. You have to be a clone of Tony who also avows the same things you do.

:rofl2: nice...you nor I have any power to change the team or what is our history...I love football and love the Jets and am sticking to my roots...all your doing is whining, although alot of the things you say are intelligent and make sense, there is no point in whining about things you cannot control...complaining gets you nowhere. Like I said...we're along for the ride.
I live in Southern California now and the fact that we destroyed the Raiders last year was pure bliss for me...since my wife manages a bar where they're mostly Raider fans. I had bragging rights that my losing team was better than theirs.

P.S. My wife whines less than you and she whines alot!

I do like your knowledge of the game just not your elitest attitude towards it.

(Your emphasis was in a totally inappropriate place for this sentence.)
So Vilma isn't a keeper? Are you freaking serious? Champ, when you use your season tix, do you actually watch the game, or did you sit and pitch a fit to anyone around you who will listen the entire time?

I guess you were too SLoW to see when you actually supported an argument against you earlier as well?

    Your response?
So given your response, your sig is basically useless? Since Woody is not 0-1 bringing a championship to us THIS YEAR (notice the emphasis,) it doesn't matter what he has done in the past. Also, we should stop hating the job Herm and Bradway did, since they didn't lose the Super Bowl this coming January.

You know, I would follow my own advice and just ignore every post you make from this point forward, but damn, you are just so FREAKING ENTERTAINING!

CHamp feels that his opinion should be shared by everyone, and anyone who doesn't think the same he does (which is almost everyone) is stupid. You see, the only reason to watch football is that so when the team that you root for wins the championship, you can act like a big shot.

Others of us like the competitive and strategic nature of football. We enjoy all the little successes, and feel pain at all the little failures. That's normal behaviour.

You guys may as well quit arguing with him. He's like the Terminator. He can't be reasoned with. He cannot be bargained with, and he absolutely will not stop until you are dead. He'll counter your logical arguments with something so off the wall that you'll just scratch your head in bewilderment. So your best bet is just drop it, and let him be.

Alio, you totally stole my thunder with the Vilma comment. Is anyone (i.e. Champ) able to tell me how the defensive rookie of the year just 2 years ago is not a keeper?. What about Eric Barton as well? Cedric showed some flashes last year as well, just to name a few. So what you're saying is that unless we have MVP-caliber players at every position, the team is no fun to watch?

Hey, last year we may have been pretty god-awful, but I am not ashamed to say that I'm ordering NFL Sunday Ticket AGAIN this year expressly for the purpose of watching Jets games (For the record, I'm a college student in California, with a limited budget, and still do this.) A true fan finds the little things to support and take enjoyment in, no matter how bad their team is.

You are confusing HISTORY which means since Woody acquired the team he is what he is & that statement is completely correct. It is fans like you who do not like such negative facts & attempt to dispell them. No JV is NOT a keeper since he is not big or strong enough to play MLB in our new D. You will see for yourself once the season unfolds.

H;mmm how can you say that since I have been a season tix holder since 65? Just because I do not share your views does not make me a "hater" of the NYJs. In fact if you met me personally you would find me one of the most passionate NYJ fans you ever met. Let me ask you why do you not go thru the roster & see whom you will think now on the roster excluding the 06 class are going to lead us to a SB. As a example CM will he leads us to a SB? or Victor Hobson? or Barrett? or any of of DBF? or JMaC? Getting my drift?

    maybe they will, Champ.

did you think the Pats would have won a Superbowl with Troy Brown in their secondary? or Mike Vrabel catching touchdown passes? they won championships with guys playing out of position, guys who weren't the best at their respective positions, but played well in a system.

the point is, you don't need all-stars at every position; but you seem to think that you do, and if not, the season is a lost cause. the problem with this is, it's neither plausible nor feasible. try naming one team (and those players) with all-stars at each position.

    cheers

Yes if you have players that can do it. So far we do not have those players. In fact we have players that are lucky to handle the position that they are supposed to be at. Also, the Pats had some much higher quality players like Brady & others where we have NONE.

it will be nice to see the progression of e coleman and k rhodes at the safety positions.....coles is certainly a good player, you say vilma will be too small, but i disagree.....barton is a nice player at ilb, shaun ellis is a great 3-4 de, see his rookie year......if you can say vilma will fail, i will counter that with cotchery will be a very good player for us this year, you'll see, he has great skills.....we have a lot of unknowns because of the ineptitude of herm with getting younger players or backups involved
