    On a side note...

Mangini re-built this team. It was in horrendous shape when he inherited this team, and yet everyone just assumes he is going to fail for the Browns. How quickly people forget. I'm not a Mangini lover, but I did think he was good at building a football team from the ground up. He had some nagging flaws, but he isn't the worst coach I have ever seen.

Some of you need to stop letting the collapse affect your overall judgement of the guy. Which is all it boils down to with A LOT of you.

um, who makes millions on that bus? this is their rookies. i don't follow the browns, but i am going to assume that many of these rookies are unsigned players fighting for a spot on the team. i dont think more than a few of those people are looking at million-dollar contracts...

So what? Even if they are not looking at a million dollar contract, they are closer to a million dollars then I am. I know that for sure, they are looking at a ton of upside, and this should not be an issue. It is just a bus ride. Again, who cares?

This is a once in a lifetime experience, and a bus ride should not get people worked up over it. Hazing? That is one of the many dumb things I have heard in my lifetime.

Nice new wrinkle to this story from SI.com.

The players took the bus. Mangini and his coaches flew. What a douche.

We're talking about ROOKIES! They are the low men on the totem pole. They have no bitching rights. Call it "hazing" if it makes you feel better. It happens in all sports at every level. Remember at high school football practice when the freshmen had to carry the water cooler and equipment to and from the practice field every day? This is no different.

It's a friggen bus ride that most of these guys will sleep through anyway. Please, spare me their misery.

Considering I'm in the Peace Corps right now, I really don't see the big deal about this.

Thank you for joining the Peace Corps, but what exactly does that have to do with this situation?

I'm sorry. My English has deteriorated.

I was referencing that these rich athletes are complaining about being inconvenienced in order to help facilitate camp for kids. Plus, they were taken away from everything, for what a day? And in a luxury coach? I'm sorry but I look at my situation now (and I am in no way complaining, I love what I do) and I just don't see what the big deal is.

I give credit to Mangini for doing this and I think the athletes need to learn a little perspective.

How about I let his losing record affect my judgement? 23-26 = LOSER. He made some nice draft picks, some good FA moves and beat the Patriots twice, that's his legacy in NY.

Newsflash, not many Jet coaches in history have winning records. He fared no worse than most of them. He came close though. Take away that late season collapse and we would all be singing a different tune.

I know the Jets are a losing team. That's why Mangini can kiss my ass and join the ranks of the other shitty NYJ head coaches.

My response was to IIMeanDeanII saying that Mangini did a good job rebuilding a team. How the hell did he do a good job if he had a losing record?

I think he's talking about from a roster perspective. The team is in much better shape than it was the day he took over. Of course Tannenbaum gets some credit for that too.

Yeah I guess the team is in better shape now than it was in 2006. Mangini does deserve some credit for that as do Tannenbaum and even Woody for cracking open the wallet for some big splash FAs.
