They play the regular season to win the CHAMPIONSHIP correct? That answers your questions. The enjoyment in the season is WINNING the SB which I am sure you are aware of. Just look at our HOF roster vs Miami who entered the league 8 years after us. Try the Boys another expansion team having more players in the HOF then us. Take Pitt with 5 SB wins or the Niners with 5 or the Boys with 5. That tells you what a inept organization we have been for so many, many years.

 

Why bother watching at all then this season? You might as well take a year off.

I used to love Willow Tree chicken salad. I'd buy the crap just about every time I went food shopping. Then, one day, I stuffed some of the junk into my pie hole (salad hole?) and bit into a chunk of gristle. No big deal - I bought the stuff again. AGAIN, I bit into a chunk of gristle. Sure enough, I started to notice the quality of the stuff going down, so I stopped buying it.

I'm using this little parable to illustrate my point better. If that damn Willow Tree chicken company isn't going to care enough to take all the gristle out of chicken salad that I pay for and enjoy, then I'm going to stop buying it.

There may be no answer for me at all, but it's something I really try to understand. Call it the problematic result of Jesuit logic. If joy only comes from a Superbowl victory; and if the Jets haven't won the Superbowl in a hundred years; then there is no joy, and why follow the team at all? Seems to me it's all just rotten chicken salad.

It's a real live question for me. I just won't be comfortable until I know.

 

Hopeful just like you that lightening will strike them some year. You are way over complicating something that is really very simple. Your ideals are your ideals & mine are mine cause yours are lower then mine does in no way infringe upon what I want to see the NYJs acheive. It also sounds like you are a religous sort from your reference so maybe ask that reference you used for the guidance you are looking for.

 

Well, he does have a point there champ. If the only thing worth anything is a SB ring, which is not determined until the final game of the season is over, is there really a need to watch any of the games ever? If all the regular season and playoff games are valueless then why would you ever watch one?
