Held Back ? I dont know that seems like bull shit. Why would Mangini hold em back ? He doesn't call any Offensive plays, He's a all out defensive minded coach. Shotty had his chances and proved nothing aswell as under utilizing our best playmaker.
Callahan didn't do anything of sort. Gruden called the plays in Oakland. Gruden threw him a bone and let him call the running plays one year. Callahan did transform Gruden offense (alot of two TE formations), to the number 1 offense in football.(playing three wr formations) It wasn't just callahan alot of that was Marc Trestman too. Anyone that thinks he will be great for Washington , Jones, and the Jets running game. Just dosen't understand Bill Callahan. Bill Callahan is obsessed with the pass(ask Nebraska fans) . You really want a pass happy OC with possible a Brett favre(mistake prone) or an inexperienced QB(going to make mistakes) as Options. Also Jets don't exactly have the best pass blocking oLine around. You know Rex probably Wants KIss on offense. KISS-Keep It Simple Stupid . That rely heavily on the running game and try and build a dominating defense.
