ahh, yes, the infamous "I can't dispute what you have stated so I will simply attempt to criticize your post creatively and hope nobody notices" strategy.

for your sake I hope nobody notices.

Rex has had too much success with this team to fire him without giving him a chance to fix what's wrong. Cutting him loose, based on just the assumption that he can't adjust his approach to handle this situation, would be asinine.

If Braylon's addiction to alcohol is stronger than his loyalty to the team and he succumbs to it and gets another DUI or alcohol related incident, he will be suspended for a lot longer than he already has.

    That would be essentially quitting.

Are you people for real? Cutting Rex and Tanny? Letting go the top 2 people in the franchise that have brought the most success to this franchise since Weeb?

Talk about knee-jerk. Pete Carroll was the BB this team had as a coach and not a player's coach. How did that work out. Walton? Kotite? Mangini? These guys weren't player's coaches. Hermie was - decently successful for 5 years. 2 playoff wins in 5 years. Rex has 4 PO wins under his belt in 3 years and we are ready to cut ties?

    Tha fuck????

Thank God the closest you can get to the FO is standing on Florham Rd.

same could be said if a piss test were to get the best of santonio holmes.

in braylon edwards case i think he's smart enough not to mess up again. if he were to get another dui, the results legally and dealing with goodell would be way worse then holmes failing another piss test.

I agree. But that hasn't happened. The guy was a beast on the field for us. Caused no trouble aside from the DUI. Good locker room guy while he was in green. I had my doubts about him initially and crinched after the DUI but he emerged from that. Never got in fights with teamates, quit on the field. And that beard...it was like having another player on the field....loved that beard...I even bought the beard T-shirt!

I agree with your post completely. I just want them to get control of the team and move forward.

I believe I read that cutting him would cost $12 million against the cap next year. Pretty much impossible to do without completely fucking up our cap situation. Now, there is some wiggle room, but I'm not sure how much or to what effect. I believe someone posted on that earlier in this thread.

the question is do you have anything to add?

this is your thread, and I am reading your dumb fuck posts. what others have stated doesn't detract from the stupidity of your own position that the Jets should be reactionary and irrational hysterics like you and should cut Holmes now simply because we are angry less than a week after the season rather than let the situation die down and come up with and pursue far more productive solutions.

perhaps you should take your own suggested course of action if you can't handle the feminine stupidity of your hysterics pointed out to you.

If the Jets cut Holmes tomorrow they will owe him $7.75 million. If Holmes is still a member of the New York Jets on the second calendar day of the 2012 season (February 8) the Jets will owe him an additional 7.75 million.

And what statement did Tanny make with Braylon?

That he's a blithering idiot for not re-signing him and OVERPAYING Holmes?

Yep. Definitely made a "statement" there.

It wasn't even a normal DUI...wasn't he in the car, stopped, with other Jets ? And it was coming back from a Jet event where he wasn't planning on drinking.

Not like he went out partying until 3 AM and drove home smashed.

    Don't forget David Clowney.

Somehow, a 4th WR bitching about touches....Rex knows about that.

But his #1 WR $50 MM not being in the game, rebelling against his OC, and then quitting on the team -- Rex wasn't 'in the loop' on those.

I'm a Rex fan but this is unreal.

Who's our WR coach ??? Does this guy have a mouth ? Wasn't he in contact with Rex or MT (let alone Schotty) ?
