Do you use the strip button a lot? I notice a lot of online players use it almost every time. Mostly that just results in a broken tackle.
The strip button works amazingly well when a runner gets stood up, but if you use it as a standard tackle button guys are going to just bounce off you and keep going.
it worked alot easier last year im glad they fixed it. the strips now are more realistic and intense. i find myself crossing my fingers every time. whether im on o or d
anyone import a class? some notes for those who arent in their first offseason Player Contracts find the lowest possible offer, this can be done by just hitting left and right on the year offer till you find it. also, once you find it, just keep offering the same thing, they will eventually accept after a while. Draft Trading its almost impossible to trade up into the first 15 picks. teams usually will want a ovr 90+ player with whatever picks you offer. of course it being madden, theres a trade rape loophole in trading. the new trade engine teams hold their current draft picks in what id consider too high regards, you can make deals any GM would jump on to trade up and it wont happen 9 times out of ten. the loophole, or conversely what counters this, is teams will part with there future picks for almost nothing. trading down is extremely realistic and the cpu does it regularly you can also generate interest in your current pick by hitting triangle and it will sometimes have offers for you. SCOUTING you have 20 players in season, 20 i think in combine, 10 pro days, and 5 individual workouts whoever you want to scout the most, save and dont scout at all until the individual workouts. those give you every rating and potential. the rest have their different ratings, in season is misc ratings, combine is physical stuff like speed, agi, etc. pro days are things like throwing accuracy, coverage, and elusiveness/trucking
decided to make this a different post. Draft Class Importing took me quite a while of wheeling and dealing but i grabbed quite a few rookies after trading some older players and role players. also nabbed some good picks by trading vets before the end of the season and their ratings fell like Brian Waters but i managed to get Nigel Bradham, (OLB FSU) 3rd pick Alshon Jeffery, (WR South Carolina ) 10th pick (i lucked out here) Dont'a Hightower, (MLB Alabama) 20th pick Damien Jackson (FS, Ole Miss), 21st pick Lamichael James (RB Oregon) 46th pick (wanted Knile Davis but the Phins nabbed him) Brian Peters (S Northwestern) 33rd pick Charles Brown (CB North Carolina) 68th pick Darron Thomas (QB Oregon) 69th pick Josh Oglesby (RT Wisconsin) 80th pick Greg Childs (WR Arkansas) 92nd pick Tyrone Crawford (DE Boise State) 101st pick Donnie Fletcher (CB Boston College) 107th pick sometimes P's and random positions will go way high, i read to fix it you have to change the Priority thing to 0 on the Coaching Strategy option. that would mean individually doing it. too much work for me though. i encountered an issue also where the texans had the number 1 pick and took a QB i just reloaded and did that draft over but you still encounter some anomalies. but teams will trade up or back with good logic. ive seen the Steelers trade up for a Safety right after I drafted Damien Jackson with only a cple left with a 1st rd grade. so teams will notice draft trends and trade up to address needs or players who fit their system. also some of the teams i traded with to get their picks, some of them started trading back to acquire more picks. all in all theres still some flaws but theyre definitely heading in the right direction.
Im starting to get fed up with this game. THe offensive line blocking/movement of d lineman with reference to what hole they are supposed to blitz is terrible. For Example. 1. If you run past an o lineman sometmes they will basically turn around to get blocked. 2. Try bringing a player that is supposed to be blitzing on the right side to the left side of the field. Instead of just running into the backfield he will run all the way around the defensive line first to hit the hole he was originally trying supposed to hit. Although I do like this because it stops some cheesing it is annoying when you have a fast d lineman like Maybin and he is forced to basically run into the tackle when you are trying to speed rush him around the edge. Anyone getting annoyed by this too?
#1 is the evolution of suction blocking. I think they made a genuine attempt to remove it this year but their line logic still isn't good enough so they had to make it so if a lineman event touches a guy he get blocked. Shitty but I am hoping this means they are at least trying to get the line interactions right. #2 you can fix with defensive hot routes. After you move the guy if you re-assign him to blitz he will blitz straight ahead instead of going back to his original spot.
No, I haven't blocked one. But then again I don't look to beat the game via exploits...I look to beat the player.
I have been trying to hot route (that was my initial reaction when i found this out) but Im not use to these defensive hot route controls yet.
I actually blocked one with philly by not doing anything. And opponents keep blocking mine through a glitch in the game. When your opponent is kicking a field goal check out the "delay of game" clock..... What the hell is that thing called again?
It's not an exploit. I've blocked kicks coming off the edge - you just have to jump the snap perfectly and time your dive. You can't block every kick but I block one every three or four games.
I turned on the option to use the madden 10 defensive buttons. With that it's just A or X depending on xbox or ps3 with the player you are controlling on then down on the d-pad.
I also got fucked today by some dude switching teams on me online. he was adjusting his playbook and jersey for the dolphins (74 ovr) while i was adjusting mine for the redskins (73ovr), and I decided to press a to start the game. Low and behold he quickly switches up to the eagles and presses a before i can change my team. I ended up beating him anyway but pretty shady move.
yes, i hate it quite alot. funny enough though I switched Wilkerson over to play in front of Thomas. both ended up with 12 sacks for the year. I just controlled Wilkerson and blew up gaps, the LB'ers seemed to do fine on their own. Pace also had double digit sacks i believe. unless your running a 4-3 front on plays like maybin. i know exactly what your talking about though by overloading and the edge rusher flushing in, instead of taking the edge.
I can't seem to figure out how to play a full season offline with updated rosters. When I play online, the roster is up to date. But when I play an offline franchise, I still have last years team, with Braylon and cotchery as my wrs. Anyone know how to make it use the current roster to play a season?
1. Revis plays like a 79 overall. Best Man cover corner in the world and he cant defend a 3rd stringer on a slant. cant even guard low te's in man defense. I kid you not. 2. It is almost impossible to throw with mark sanchez. overthrows streaks, underthrows posts.. forget about it.. and if he gets sacked you might as well quit, he forgets how to play football.. 3. This is the sameeeeeeee exact game from last year. Minus rosters and some new "features"... 4. I just pray that ea never buys the Nba license, or im done with sports games forever.
You probably started the franchise before you updated your roster. It's not going to change after you start.
