True...it was the first 4 episodes that I hated. You can always tell which ones they are by Kramers haircuts...lol...more greased back and flat..when I see that cut...I know Im not going to enjoy the episode. Just a quick pointer...wasnt saying this show will eventually be a Seinfeld...I know you didnt read it that way but the "what are you out of your mind!! this show will never be as good as Seinfeld" lecture was coming. Seinfeld did rebound pretty quickly in the first full season...my fav of all time..along with that bald man you use in your avatar.
Watched tonight after Entourage, and it struck me as 3rd said last week - just another cartoonish sitcom except they get to curse a lot for little reason.
I've watched it since it came on. It's OK. The ending of last nights episode was pretty funny, with the black guy using the vibrator after his wife left the room.
brutally unfunny this week. the 'wife can't have an orgasm' might've worked as a subplot for the black neighbors but as the focus of the entire episode it was just a big swing and a miss. the writing is subpar and the acting feels off as well, with the reported financial difficulties HBO is going through I'd be shocked to see a 2nd season of this show unless they turn it around really quickly.
lol i liked the episode, especially where he actually screams "fuckin bitch" while hes bangin her. not to mention the "pretend you dont exist" thing. Louis CK standup is priceless and the show carries alot of his humor in it. not to mention getting some solid standup people like Laura Keightlinger and Norton(bald guy) to help out. ionno i liked what ive seen so far.
Pretty much how I feel. I guess it's you either like it or don't kinda thing. I think people are a little harsh because they want it to be seinfeld already and it's only 2 episodes in. Also, I don't think it's cursing cause they can, they just say it the way a normal person would say it. "Plastic Made in China Mutha Fucka!"...to me that's really how it would go.
It's not wanting the show to be Seinfeld. At this point the defining characteristics of the show seem to be the profanity and the fact that they can show Louie gyrating on top of his wife instead of showing them in bed afterwards. The biggest problem to me is the striking lack of originality displayed in the first two episodes. Someone that liked the show said that it "was like the King of Queens with cursing". And that's exactly why it will fail unless we see something radically different soon.
Watched back-to-back episodes tonight. Not bad. Joan Rivers in the 2nd episode was hilarious. I was just laughing my ass off.
yeah the FX show is much better than the Showtime one. the Dane Cook one is priceless, funny to finally hear that subject addressed between the two.
Tickets for his shows at the New York Comedy Festival in November went on sale this week. Same weekend as the Pats game and the TGG tailgate.
Louis CK is pretty funny, but I missed this one. Seems to have mixed reviews though, so I guess I might not have missed a whole lot. Usually this guy really its my pessimist side, we will see though...
