I actually did like the way Mcknight ran the ball last night. Like ace said there weren't many holes for him to run, but even so he had some nice moves for a few yards.
i didnt, and i am one of mcknights biggest supporters on that run where he had the nice stiff arm, if he keeps it inside, instead of trying to bounce it outside, he scores a touchdown ... santonio had his guy sealed to the outside, and joe goes that way, anyway. santonios reaction said to me that he felt the same way about that run this kid has got some work to do, hopefully we can spoon feed him until hes ready
LT really impressed me. Nice to see he still had the quicks to get the corner on that first down reception. If he can handle a bigger load I would live to see a 50/50 green/LT rotation early in the season. This will keep Greene fresh to punish defenses in the post season.
On that one play where LT got the touchdown but it was called back. Did anyone see if the holding call was legit? By this I mean would it have been different if there wasn't a hold?
Greene was the one starter I wished Ryan was going to get the hell out of there. I don't know about this one vs the other bullshit. LT is going to keep Greene fresh going into the latter half of the season, when a battering ram is that much more effective.
If LT plays as a rejuvenated comeback player of the year candidate, that would be awesome. I was not down on Thomas Jones like many here. I thought he was a solid contributor, didn't put the ball on the ground like Greene did too often last year. But if LT can keep up being that passing option, that adds a real benefit to the Jet attack. And he can still get it done in the rushing game by all indications. This is great.
I was impressed when Greene even caught a pass. I'm encouraged by what we saw the offense do against a weak Gints defense. The next few weeks are torture waiting for real ball.
does anyone have some input on the new umpire positions? my dad was a high school ref for many years and said this will easily increase holding calls. hopefully this doesn't kill the runnign game for the NFL let alone the jets. any thoughts on how this can be fixed or if it won't be a big problem?
