vick doesnt stay healthy. this would mean that mark sanchez will be most likely seeing the field when he goes down. i dont think any of us want that to be a realistic possibility if we are going to pick up a big name qb
Alex Smith is the perfect stop-gap while we play out the Nacho contract and wait for a great prospect to emerge. Because we will have a solid D, if we can shore up the ground game we will be able to fight for a playoff spot next year imo.
@brian_bassett is reporting it 3-4 years. https://mobile.twitter.com/brian_bassett/status/287618796225708032
Exactly ... i just looked it up to see and there is NO sign at all we just hired him. but yes i agree Alex smith would be a good choice at QB. .....and for the 10053th time -- Norv Turner maybe ? plus high draft picks... i say we look good next year actually.
I'd expect 4 years minimum. It's gonna take one year just to flush away most of the bad contracts on this team.
its nice to know that there is someone else out there who hasnt gotten the gamble hard on yet. these guys get so out of control with praise of guys that its almost impossible for them to live up to the predictions of greatness. this guy sounds like a good candidate, hopefully the jets can sign him and let him do his job. i really really hope he has a good plan. the fact he has been around for so long i look at as a positive as he has probably learned quite a bit through all aspects of the front office.
No one knows if Gamble will be successful, he cetainly has a good resume, but not a lot of upper mgmt experience. He's probably equal to Ross & Caldwell. It's a positive sign we are going to have a new perspective in our front office with solid scout/personnel experience.
As Jet fans we really needed some good news. I'm excited about this, and hope it becomes official real quick. Gamble obviously knows Norv. Get him in here.....assure him OC even if Rex gets fired after a year. And if he wants to bring in his D guy from SF, i'm ok with that. Now get Matt Moore in here!
His resume and experience far outweighs Ross & Caldwell. that's not to say Ross or Caldwell may be the next shooting star....you never know they might be. But at this point, i'll take that solid resume and experience in all different FO facets. I wanted Gamble or Dorsey for those reasons... Hopefully he is up for the task. lots of work to do.
