So are injuries.........that seems to be the excuse for Jets fans why they lost to the lowly Bills{shrugs shoulders}
As of right now the Jets are the team struggling teams mark on their calendars to begin turning it around.
not even remotely close. if the injured player will be back the 2nd game they will have that impact. there doesn't have any logical reason to think an offense that turns the ball over a lot will suddenly stop doing that. I get being happy your team is 3-0, and wanting to overrate stuff, and look I actually like josh allen and liked him more then rosen and mayfield coming out of the draft. But also knew he was a project and expected him to have a rough first couple of years which he will and is having. But I do think he'll be a good QB and your team will improve, They just aren't as good as their record suggests and they beat the jets due to all factors that won't be at play in the week 17 matchup
If you want to think that sure. but in less then 2 weeks we'll be getting back sam, mosely, Q williams, herndon, possibly DT. Thanks a big boost especially to the piss poor offense that has been killing us. Our D has looked great and 8 players on our D have graded out at 70+ for PFF. We also have the highest scoring D in the NFL. Bills played the jets at a good time week 1 with a sick QB, a AP LBer getting hurt in the game, a 3rd overall pick rookie DT hurt in the game and 2 starters suspended. Browns had it even better with sam completely out, and simian getting hurt and the pats were gonna beat us regardless anyway. The bills would be 0-3 as well if they were on their 3rd QB, WR2 out for the year, were missing their entire starting LBer group, starting TE, high pick 1st round rookie D-lineman etc etc. the big difference is we won't be missing them all year. If they were all out for the season i'd give the edge to the bills
I think you guys are way too confident in Sam Darnold coming back and turning the season around. The kid is far from a finished product, but you guys make it seem as if your a double digit win team with Darnold under center. He's 4-10 as a starter in the NFL and has been up and down......flashes here......mixed in with some bad young QB play. This isn't a Andrew Luck situation.........Sam Darnold isn't a once in a generational type talent. Currently he's a QB on bad team, with a bad oline and a HC that got 2 gigs based off calling plays for a QB that was a 3 time NFL MVP and Super Bowl Champion before him. Slow down on Sam Darnold........he hasn't arrived at all.
SNY has a poll up where readers get to grade the offense, defense, STs, and coaching so far this season. https://www.sny.tv/jets/news/grade-...-defense-special-teams-and-coaching/310916068 On offense the voting on grades goes as follows: A - 1%, B - 0%, C - 3%, D - 20%, F - 76% On defense the voting on grades goes as follows: A - 2%, B - 21%, C - 51%, D - 20%, F - 6% On special teams the voting on grades goes as follows: A - 2%, B - 20%, C - 40%, D - 25%, F - 13% On coaching the voting on grades goes as follows: A - 0%, B - 1%, C - 15%, D - 39%, F - 45%
It's not just sam turning it around and i'm not saying he's tom brady either, but there is a massive difference in talent between him and luke falk/trevor siemian especially when it comes to improvising. Sam is one of the best improvising QBs in the NFL already which is much needed behind out swiss cheese o-line. We are also missing herndon who was one of his favorite targets. getting those 2 back are huge upgrades and herndon will be back week 6 and sam possibly week 5. The record doesn't matter as much as you seem to think. peyton manning started off 3-13 his rookie year and threw 20 INTs with a better team around him nonetheless. I'm not going to go into the generational talent thing because it doesn't matter. The point is it's a huge jump from luke falk and it's not like we are getting blown out (save for the pats but we played them closer then any other team has so far) so we just need the offense to do something. even just 14-17 PPG on offense is enough for us to win with how the defense is playing. And the defense will be getting back in the next couple of weeks Q williams, Mosely, copeland, Jenkins. thats 3 of our 4 starting LBers coming back off injury (the 4th went on IR in the preseason) and our rookie 3rd overall pick. So the D is only going to get even better. The other part you aren't seeing is the jets had the toughest 1st half schedule in the NFL, and the easiest 2nd half. Most fans here were predicting 7-8 wins in the offseason but a 2-6 start. this was expected even without the injuries. the only "winnable" games we seen the 1st half was the bills and fins. Yeah we dropped 1 to the bills but even with that a 1-7 start isn't much worse then a 2-6 start. and jax looks a lot more beatable then they did at the start of the season to make up that game. our 2nd half of the season is a cake walk all things considered. right now only 3 teams in the 2nd half have wins and 1 is the raiders who look bad, another is the ravens who are likely gonna kill us, and the 3rd being the bills week 17. we have games against 5 winless teams in the 2nd half. The jets arne't that good right now. we have a bad o-line a young team trying to mesh, developing a young QB, and a new HC. we are a 6-8 win team even without the injuries. but so are the bills and that 3-0 start is going to fade fast. the only difference is thanks to injuries we'll both be watching the playoffs not participating and we'll have a better draft pick. the reality of that hasn't quite hit you yet

The defining difference between the Bills and the Jets is not their offenses, it's their respective pass defenses. One is on the cusp of being the best in the league, while the other is on the cusp of remaining mediocre. No doubt, a rather damning indictment against a team which has invested so much capital in attempting to build a prolific defense.
