bernstein went to my high school and he has been workign out there the past week or so and he has had crowds in our weight room watch him and crowds watching him run sprints and he looks like a monster...i want him back in ny
No he would have been picked up earlier, since 1998 - 22 have been picked in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round. Guys back then? 18 fb's have been drafted in the last 3 drafts.
i listed the wrong guy anyway, but you can't go by whats listed, because some of it is incorrect chris cooley was listed as a FB when drafted, but he plays H-Back/TE in the NFL most drafted FB's are afterthoughts in round 7, and many never pan out to anything
A fullbacks position is dependent on the Offense that is in place. No one can say he's a perfect fir because we do not know the offensive mindset of our OC. He may want a Blocking FB, he may want and athletic FB to catch passes. BJ was a beast @ Mich and if given the chance he can produce.
Ask yourselves whether or not Berstein will help out the Jets offence. If you think he will then why would you not want to draft him in one of the later rounds? Do you think that he would be less helpfull to the team then a 4 or 5 round wr or lineman that will not be starting for years if ever, he will start the first game. He will be drafted by someone before the end of the 5th round and I would prefer if it was the Jets.
Give Askew the shot this year, but save the FB pick next year for one of the best FB/RB to come out of college in many years- Brian Leonard from Rutgers!!! Kid blocks like a truck, can run 80 yds. with DBs chasing him and can catch the ball out of the backfield like no one! Next year we take that stud in the 2nd round!
no way, askew definitely deserves the chance to finally start. he has proven himself as a good backup and the jets should give him a shot at starter. and the FB position should be the least of our worries right now.
Brian Leonard is a good powerback he is not a fullback he wants to carry the ball and get yards not block and get his body pounded on play after play so that the running backs and qb can make plays. He is a small Alstott.
I was just going to mention Alstott. He's more of a pride fullback, not really a guy who is going to open holes for a tailback. Bernstein + blocks + Askew + receives + carries = Nasty backfield
