anybody notice Pace being put in with the 1s?

    That means Gholston can't hang.

How can you say he did good today? He had 1 tackle 20 yards down the field and an unblocked almost sack.

I saw Gholston regularly playing with the 1's.... Don't forget there is a constant rotation at OLB. This was probably his best game yet and people are still shitting on him.

He pushed the pocket a handful of times, and was clearly held on a would-be sack but didn't get the call. We demand to see improvement, but I am trying to be positive here.

Its simply the Jet thing to do. Team has been so bad for so long that some fans cannot shake off the pessimistic approach and view.

Yeah, I'm aware of that but for fuck sake be objective in the preseason. This entire season will be full of ups and downs, alot of the fanbase might keel over and die before next year.

There are alot more important things than statistics... I don't care if he has no tackles as long as he makes other people getting tackles easier.

I was very pleased with the progression of Gholston. He had quite a few good plays today and his motor was running all day today.

You probably think Asomugha is bad because he only had 1 interception.

That's a very funny, but fairly accurate, assessment of Gholston's performance. I was far from impressed.

He got some pressure, got double teamed (a few of those coming on 3 man rushes) and besides that didn't really show up on the stat sheet. And don't try to defend his motor, everyone that was on that field has a motor. If they didn't have a desire to play they wouldn't have made it past their first practice session.

I will grant that he got some pressures. But listen, you can't compare his performance against some convenient horribly incompetent straw-man. Gholston was brought in to be a project but his strength was supposed to be rushing the passer. Save for a few flashes that can be described as mediocre, he hasn't been impressive.

Sorry for thinking a guy who makes almost 44 million more dollars than me, should get more than 1 tackle a game.

I hated on Gholston, and I could see progress.

Those that don't, then keep hating.

It's a start! This was probably his best game and he finally got a hit on a QB, that has to feel great for him. It's all about confidence, and hopefully he will be a force for us.

Lets hope the penalty doesnt make him scared of hitting a QB too hard.

I'm not sure what's wrong with some of you guys; Gholston had a solid game. He has a lot of room for improvement but I can totally see him being a play-maker sometime down the road. That sack was perfect.

You should have read his first edit. Gholston is improving from an absolute disaster to simply a below average player. Perhaps we can set our sights on average player later this season. In other words, it's not much yet, but it's progress. He's obviously better against the pass than the run right now, but I did see that he's been working to develop a couple of moves instead of the strict bullrush that simply doesn't work on the NFL level.
