Yea that's a big surprise,it seems like he doesn't have the right guys for the type of defense he runs.I thought they would have easily had a top 5 D and if they did they would be fighting for a playoff spot with us right now.
That's what happens when your ego is more important than the team, he should have allowed them to keep what was comfortable for them and he should have hired a DC from their previous regime to keep it going. Instead, he has what is considered an elite DE playing OLB. I was watching the Cardinals game and I was impressed by that cardinals defense, so I did a little research on their DC, well it turns out when Bruce Arians had to replace TB he promoted their LB coach with the requirement that he not change the scheme they were used to running. He did not want to bring in an outsider that would change the scheme, or promote someone from within that would change it either. That's what a good HC does, he does not try to reinvent the wheel, he adjusts to his players abilities not make them do things they can't just to fit his scheme.
I would disagree about people "not being able to handle" Jets success. 1. That guy is not saying he is angry or can't handle it. In fact he says the opposite (good for the jets). What he is saying is that he is just not impressed by the Jets or their wins. Those are different things. 2. I haven't heard of anyone yet who is "mad" the jets are in the playoffs. Most people like Fitz and Gailey (I'm a big Gailey supporter) and are rooting for them, especially to knock off the Patriots and keep them from winning another SB. Same goes for Fred Jackson in Seattle. When fans like players and coaches, they want them to reach the playoffs. Personally, in addition to Fitz and Gailey, I'm also rooting for Bowles as he coached at my alma mater, just like Bruce Arians. I hope he succeeds in NY. 3. The jets aren't the Patriots. We hope the pats lose at all costs and I could never see rooting for them as long as TB is there. It isn't that way with the jets or Dolphins. For us, we root for any team who has a shot at keeping NE from winning. We want someone else to win the division for a change.
The most alarming thing to me if I'm a Bills fan is that he hasn't learned from any of his mistakes he made here.....like at all
I dont necessarily know if its Taylor or that passing offense in general that could eventually be figured out. They dont ask Taylor to do a whole lot but he is doing it well. He is efficient and playing well but they have almost no intermediate passing game. They throw it 15-20 times, either short passes or deep passes.. almost nothing in the 10-20 yard range. Is that because of Taylor's deficiencies or because of the system? I don't know but it doesnt seem like you can survive by doing that for long. However they've had a good offense all year so who knows. The key to beating them is to get the lead early. Then you can just defend the deep pass and they aren't able to run and dink and dunk their way back into the game.
I think the same myself, make him throw it for more than 10 yds and his completion % goes way down. Passes behind the LOS and less than 10 yds he is at 75%, longer than 10yds it drops to 43%. This is not meant to be a comparison to Fitz before anyone goes that route, I realize Fitz is terrible on the long passes.
It doesn't end in Bills country. Even locally, when it comes to the Jets, the NYT usually finds a way to go the smug, putdown route. After "The Perpetual Victims of Fate's" biggest win in years yesterday, leave it to William C. Agenda to buzz kill it .... Sports of The Times Jets, Perpetual Victims of Fate, Finally Seize Control of It By WILLIAM C. RHODEN "After their win and the Steelers’ loss, the Jets control their destiny, which is an accomplishment for a team that started fast but faded, blowing leads like the Jets of old, mismanaging time and giving away precious opportunities." "....or perhaps Belichick was just being Belichick, staying true to form and figuring that the Jets would find a way to bungle the game away." "..........New England would then either win on a Tom Brady touchdown pass or break the hearts of Jets fans once again on a Stephen Gostkowski field goal."
My buddy here is a huge Bills fan, was so confident the Bills would make the playoffs with my other buddy a Browns fan (two sad sacks of franchises right there) and he told me he is happy for Chan and Fitz and is actually rooting for the Jets this weekend.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-dixon-playing-jets-spoiler-is-our-super-bowl The New York Jets' 26-20 victory over the New England Patriots, coupled with a Pittsburgh Steelers'20-17 loss to the Ravens, gives Gang Green a win-and-in playoff scenario in Week 17. That matchup pits the Jets against their old coach, Rex Ryan, and the Buffalo Bills. While Ryan downplayed the game following Buffalo's victory over the Cowboys on Sunday -- saying he wished his team could be playing for more than just spoiler -- some Billsplayers took the opposite approach. "We got something to play for now," running back Boobie Dixon said, via ESPN.com. "We been having something to play for -- that's our respect and our pride. We always want that. But to send them home packing -- that would be great. "We're not going to the playoffs, so the Super Bowl is next week for us. I know we're gonna have a lot of guys jacked. We already know what's on the line." The Bills defeated the Jets 22-17 in their first matchup of the season on Nov. 13 at MetLife Stadium. For a team with postseason aspirations entering the season, finding solace in beating your head coach's former team is a bitter cup of tea. But at least it's something to drink. For men who play a violent game, adding any meaning to a lost season is beneficial. On the other side, Jets players, like safety Calvin Pryor, are looking forward to facing Ryan with the playoffs on the line. "Can't wait. Bart Scott voice," Pryor said.
Let`s give the guy a bit of a break. He`s been suffering with a stinker for decades now and the strain is beginning to show. Some of us older disgruntled darksider Jet fans can feel his pain. Ouch!
I think that statistics lie a bit with Taylor. Sure, he has put some decent numbers up, but he really struggles to move that offense. The offense is very stagnant if he is forced to stay in the pocket and actually throw. If a team does not stay committed to staying in running lanes, then he is dangerous because of his legs. The Bills are 0-5 with Taylor throwing over 30 times. I honestly prefer Fitzy. The offense is consistently moving. Fitzy doesn't get confused with blitz packages and he is able to consistently get the ball to Marshall and Decker. When everyone, including Enunwa and Powell are involved with the passing game, this offense is really good.
