I agree that CB is not a pressing need for the Jets at this point, but if there does happen to be a top-rated CB available when we're on the clock, the thought of another elite talent across from Revis is really f'in tempting. We could neutralize any passing passing attack in the league...
I don't think he's been awesome. He's been inconsistent, like he has been all year. The only time he looked great was during that three game stretch that helped turn our season around. We played Fitzgerald, Moore, and Freeman during that stretch. He was absolutely brutal versus Collie last week. Yeah, I know it's Peyton Manning, but still. He's decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to sign the guy.
He's been very good since coming back from the injury. Very good and is an awesome compliment to Revis. This site is ridiculous when it comes to him, open your eyes, listen to Francesa on WFAN, he'll tell ya. Francesa almost never compliments the Jets, ask him how Sheppard has played. All he's done is brag about the guys play. It's obvious.
The Jets should let Sheppard go on the market and then step in immediately with a good deal to retain him and see what happens. Strickland looks like a comer, so we won't be screwed if Sheppard walks, but it would be much nicer to have Strickland as the nickel back for a season or two and insurance in case of an injury.
It would be fair to consider that almost anyone playing opposite Revis Island is going to look shabby in comparison. Not that Lito has been awesome, but I do think that his mistakes get magnified because of Revis.
hes a good number 2 and i really would like to see him back next year, no idea how possible that is thou
