Sheppard is a pro bowl caliber corner, i dont think he forgot how to play last year, he was pissed he didnt get a new contract and asante samuel got paid. If we can get him for a 4th rounder its a steal
The only reason Sheppard fell so far was because he was doing so much public bitching, he was third on the depth chart when the season started. That's not such a bad thing when Sheldon Brown and Asante Samuale are the guys ahead of you.
Look here is what I dont understand. Last year Sheppard was on the block so to speak with Samuel being signed. He was also considered to be very good at the time. Now here is my thought, I dont know the logistics of his contrast, but despite the low asking price why do we think someone who has seemingly lost both there starting job and nickle job is a suitable replacement for our number 2 corner. That is not a position you can leave up to question (see last year). If we do get Sheppard I guess I would be thrilled but if he sucks that bad I dont see how giving up a 3rd or 4th rounder for a "depth" player would be that good
