if what your saying is true, i'd sign for that in a minute!
the guys on serius were saying though, that philly really is'nt in the market for anyone that would have them move up that high in the draft.

If we wanted a CB with an injury history, they probably would have just kept Dyson.

KS, while part of it is to get Sheppard who when healthy is one of the best CB's in the game (better than dyson was when healthy in NY) but not only that, but if we have that kind of draft, plus Lito Sheppard for 6-10 games, I certainly wouldnt be complaining, and at this point, our other starter has too be David Barret, unless we resign Poteat, then its him. So since many of us think we could be all right with Poteat on the other side of Revis, we would be fine with Poeat for 6-10 weeks if Sheppard is hurt, and I would rather that, plus that studly draft, than staying at 6 to take Gholston...

speculation based on a forum proposed trade down

This started in another thread about trading back with Philadelphia for 19, and Lito Sheppard. so this following was posted, and I spent about half an hour doing research and whatnot for a draft scenario if the below posted by rmagedon6 were to actually happen. since I didnt recieve hardly any responses before the thread died out, and i spent so much time on it, i decided to throw it out there, and see what the masses thought about it.

    as originally posted by rmagedon6,

If I recall the original "rumor". The Eagles wanted to move to somewhere near the 10th pick. So, in the spirit of "moving down", I propose...

If...IF...Gholston & McFadden are out of the picture, I wouldn't mind trading down with the Bengals (9) or Saints (10) for the Ellis sweepstakes (since they both covet him). In addition to moving DOWN to a spot the Eagles prefer, we'd be picking up Bengals/Saints 3rd rounder (a little undervalued by 20+ pts but we'd now have an early 3rd as opposed to NOTHING). We offer the 9th/10th to the Eagles for their 19th, propose for their 2nd, but more likely can get their 3rd and Lito Shep.

This would leave us at #19, our 2nd (maybe an additional 2nd if we bait the Eagles right), 2-3rd round picks, etc.

    Just a thought... [quote/]

so this is the way I did my scenario, so feel free to come up with your own wild trade scenarios, or do your own mock based on this trade down scenario proposed by rmagedon6.

    #19-Limas Sweed WR
    #36-Curtis Lofton ILB
#78-Cliff Avril (From New Orleans) OLB
    #80-Tom Zbikowski (From Philadelphia) S
    #102-Kendall Langford DE
    #113-Kevin Smith RB
    #171-Peyton Hillis FB
    #211- Jeremy Lehman LB

Now I realize that some of these guys likely won't be there in the round they are drafted, most notably Cliff Avril, but i did this based on Draft Tek's mock and they were taken no more then 5 picks before the selection and others were taken up to the end of that round, Zibikowski I think went at the end of 3, so I took him at 80.

I think it is more than great for the Jets, and I know I would never complain with this draft. Also don't forget we get Lito Sheppard as well. So we fill our biggest needs, CB(Sheppard), S(Zbikowski), WR(Sweed), Pass rushing OLB(Avril), ILB next to Harris(Lofton), 3-4 DE (Langford) FB of the future (Hillis) A special teams demon(Lehman) and a sleeper in Kevin Smith, I think Smith would more than contribute to our team in the long run. This probably would signal the end of the Chatman era in NY however...

So that's my two cents on the possible scenario that would set us up with a trade down with Philly. feel free to submit your own, and thanks again to rmagedon6 for coming up with the idea that started this thread, if this should be elsewhere threadwise, please Mod's move it to the correct location.

Personally, I love the idea of getting Lito by trading down, especially if VG and DMC are gone. Even if they aren't, I still like it.

Agreed. Sheppard's a great corner and is still pretty young. If, like another poster said, we could go with a WR at 19 (I prefer DeSean Jackson) and an ILB (Lofton) at 36, we'd basically have no more holes. If we could get the Eagles 2nd as well, and maybe give them a 4th, imagine a draft of Sweed/Jackson, Kenny Phillips, and Lofton. WOW.

This would be an amazing situation. Even those clamoring for DMac should be happy with the trade. If things fell our way, we could still pick up Jonathan Stewart at 19 while filling that CB position. Limas Sweed fills more of a need, though. Interestingly, Kiper has him falling to us in the 2nd round. Not sure he makes it that far.

I'd prefer jumping into the Pacman sweepstakes.
I thought the Jets got screwed when they took a bag of crawfish for Vilma.
The Titans taking a single mid-rounder for this guy tops that.

And don't give me the character issue stories. The guy could blow farm animals when he's off the field as far as I'm concerned, just as long as he can wreck another team's passing game.

At least if he were blowing farm animals, he'd be doing it away from the public eye (hopefully). His biggest problem is that he doesn't give a shit what he does OR who sees it.

Sheppard is unwanted in Philly, broken down and overpaid. Why wouldn't we want him?

With his injury history, I'd say pass.

JAbe couldn't stay on field either, and was commanding huge salary - and thus he was shipped. What makes you think Lito deserves any better?
