I understand where you're coming from, but you can't scheme around CBs who can't cover against the best teams in the NFL. It's been forever since we've used a 1st round pick on offense and we need to, but we have zero playmakers on defense. If you want to make our DL ultimately successful and have an impact, then we need a stud pass-rushing OLB, and a ball-hawking CB and FS at a minimum. That doesn' t mean that we have to get them in the 2017 draft, but before we're going to have a decent season, those needs must be filled.

I understand your thinking, and you definitely have a point. If the Jets have a top 3 pick and pass on a QB, it will be the defining moment of Mac's tenure as GM, and it will make or break him. If he passes on a QB and that QB goes on to be a star and Petty and Hack both fail to develop, Mac's job is gone and he'll probably never work as a GM again. Conversely, if he takes a QB instead of a stud pass rusher or LT prospect and that QB flops or gets seriously injured because they let Clady go and his replacement wasn't good enough, then Mac will get killed in the media and fanbase as well. He's almost in a no-win situation.

Even though we have some nice young players, we have no superstars, no adequate QB at the moment, no playmakers on defense, no consistent pass rush, a secondary than can't cover, and a shaky OL. Tanny and Idzik screwed this team. It's going to take at least another 2-3 offseasons to even begin to address all the needs we have, and then we have to replace Mangold and Harris sooner rather than later.

No one in the class screams franchise to me. I'm an ND fan and Kizer is supposedly the top QB and he is terribly inconsistent, same with Kaaya.

This is not the year of the franchise QB. Not sure, seems like some of you just expect us to find our guy this upcoming draft but this years QB class is ass overall. That's even if a few of these guys declare early. If not, it's much worse.

I think Brigewater and Geno Smith were higher rated QBs coming out then any QB that will be in the draft this upcoming year.

We always pick the dumbest times to have the worst seasons. It's dumb.

Every year I hear from you so called experts that this isn't the year to get a QB. Chances are at least one of these QBs, whether it's Kizer, Watson, Trubisky or someone we don't know about yet will work out. It's up to Mac to identify which one and go get him. If he fails then he goes and bring in someone else that tries. This team needs to find a franchise QB finally, somehow somewhere but we need to end this madness immediately.

What makes me ill is that Yannick Ngakoue could have been our OLB answer. I saw it from a mile away.

I like Jenkins but we need someone big time. We need to make some FA moves and get some guys in here at a decent price (S, OLB, ILB, OL depth).

With FA predictions up in the air I'd like us to go get Dalvin Cook with our 1st.

We need a kid with break away speed. Having a stud at RB takes a lot of pressure off the QB.

Get some supplemental OL help in FA but draft a RT in the 2nd. Safe pick, hard to bust. Make sure it's not a project from UMASS...

Hit speed OLB in the 3rd or take another CB.

In 2018 focus on LT, C the first two rounds. Hit WR in the 3rd.

(This is all assuming we find a competent QB).
