I like the title of this thread. Enough of the Pats, let's move on. Most of us are tired of talking about them anyway. If this game comes down to punt after punt and field position, I think we have the edge. There could be a lot of 3-and-outs Sunday, but I trust Graham and Nugent and our STs to come through. Especially STs, after they got burned on that one play. I expect Westhoff is kicking tail as we speak. Jets 20 (2TDs and 2FGs) Ravens 17
That's a good point... Right now, we're two teams that are well coached, but not in great shape, so it very well may come down to specials.... BJ Sams is out for them on Sunday, which is huge for us... He's a great return man and their best weapon on specials... With him out, and Miller, Leon and Revis available for us, we have a significant advantage on specials.... As far as the Ks go, I don't think Nugent is that much better than Stover.... I think Nugent has more of a powerful leg than Stover, but Stover's consistency is unmatched...
Yeah, I agree, but our O-line has to make some holes for Jones, something they weren't doing last Sunday. In fact, we were getting beat of both lines of scrimmage, so Sunday has to be different. Jones got hardly anything off the shitty blocking, so that has to change on Sunday.
The thing that surprised me in last Sunday's game (and I think this is the thing that threw our STs off too, was that the Pats brought the ball out on that Nugent kickoff that landed like 6-8 yards in the end zone. I remember thinking to myslef, "Okay, finally, Nugent belts one in the end zone... that's a great kick!" Then the turd brings it out and I think it kind of maybe took our STs off guard a little, like it did everyone else watching it. I guarantee they won't be falling for that or backing off this Sunday.
Hahahahahahaa.... Good one, Moss. No, actually, all the games have been cancelled so that everyone has a chance to talk about the New England Cheatriots a little more (LOL).
RayRay is a one-armed gimp and Boller will be benched for Troy Smith at halftime. The Ratbirds offense with Boller the Savior is even worse than the Brownstains & Charlie Frye....The Offensive Genius won't save them. 17-0 j e t s
I read something this morning that I didn't know... that the Ravens' stadium is one of the LOUDEST in the country.
All I know is this.... With a noob QB behind that line, your O-line better be able to get some push in the running game. If they can't run it, and teh Ravens can pin back their ears and rush the QB all the time, this will get ugly.... Having said that, I don't think the Ravens are anywhere near as strong as they were last year, and I actually like the Jets here...marginally...but I like the Jets nonetheless. I think they will be determined to run, with moderate success.
They say that about every stadium it seems....Seattle, KC, Denver, baltimore..there must be a dozen others. I wouldn't buy into that too much.
Good call. Lets not be afraid of these crab-cake eaters. The only thing is Baltimore we should fear are the lofty crime rates! Hey, I watch The Wire!
I'm down here in MD and have ben their a couple times, last time when we came down for the Bolli fiasco. Place is freakin loud.
I am not convinced their offense can drive the ball on the Jets. the Jets just have to find a way to drive it themselves....given the loss of Adalius Thomas and lewis' injury.....I think the LB corps is not what it was, and that was always their strength.
I'm with you on that, but we saw, even as NE brought a lot of blitzes in the 3rd and 4th quarters, that the line started to come together a little, and Jones was quick to hit the hole... Hopefully the OL picks up where it left off as far as run blocking goes... It will be difficult to build much continuity against a defense like Baltimore's, so we need to start strong and build confidence...
I think this is a good matchup for our defense. Our weakness is a complete lack of pass rush, but it's not like you need to get to Kyle Boller to rattle him or force him to make mistakes. Also, no Jonathan Ogden. McGahee was unimpressive against Cincinnati last week. With banged-up receivers, this might be one of the worst offenses in the league. Offensively, this will be the ultimate trial by fire for Kellen Clemens. With Thomas Jones at less than 100%, I don't think Leon can handle 20+ carries against this defense, I don't care how banged up Ray Lewis is. Kellen might have to drop back 40 times in his first start. Should be interesting. I actually think that is the way to go. I don't think Baltimore is all that deep in the secondary; their strength is the front seven. If we can keep them in nickel and dime packages, it may work to our advantage. 16-13 Jets. (long time lurker, first time poster, nice to be aboard.)

Another example of Mangini's mind games. Can't you see it? Billick: JAMES Pennington? Doesn't he mean Chad? Is there a James? Who is he..etc, etc (continues until Billick is filled with doubt and cannot focus on the game. Jets capitalize on unfocused Raven effort. Jets 27-3.)
