This is the scrub WR thread. You're looking for the ASJ scrub TE thread.

I was also looking for the Kellen Davis and Kellen Winslow threads.....Or scrub Tight Ends the Jets have signed with the name Kellen. One couldn't catch a pass in slow motion the other preferred jerking off in shopping center parking lots in broad daylight.

ASJ has always had and been a problem,,,guy is talented but I will believe it when I see it . I did not do cartwheels when we got him and felt the exact same way when we traded for another wonderful TE in Doug Jolley----that guy was said to have talent and he stunk !
Back to DGB = I will pass

Come on, how many guys on this board can honestly say they never jacked off in the parking lot of their local Target? ✊
Edit : just to clarify , this is a joke. ..

When you've reached the parking lot of your local Target, you don't need to jack off. You're already there.

FJAY I remember reading articles and listening to talk radio on how talented Jolley was and all he needed was a change of scenery and saying to myself are these people on crack ?

that trade also got us the best kicker ever mike NUGENT! SMH

I can't believe our GM really thought we were a kicker and TE away from a superbowl. what a shitty tarde and draft. our 1st and 2nd rounder netted us nugent (bust was off the team after a few years) Jolley(sucked and didn't last but a couple of years) Miller (good KR but never panned out at CB) Was off the team after his rookie deal. AT least out of the 3 nugent did go on to have a solid career and is still in the NFL at 35 years old 80.8 career % isn't bad at all

If the Jets want to lower the collective IQ of their player pool, by all means, sign DGB. He'll fit right in with the collection of bar brawlers, domestic violence offenders, and Bentley test pilots we've already got. I'd pass.

beggars can't be choosers. and he hasn't had any issue since being in the NFL. Yeah he fucked up in college and it cost his stock to drop but we all did stupid shit as a teenager. meanwhile we got anderson getting in bar fights and I don't see anyone saying shit about him, we got lee harassing women and was luckily saved by williams who restrained him and nobody said shit about lee. marshal is suspended for PEDs and this was after having fumbling issues last season and injury issues but again everyone is cool with it. Nobody available right now is going to be the model NFL pro bowl player. sometimes you gotta take chances and i'd say DGB is pretty low risk high reward.

Actually there are threads about Sheldon who you mentioned a few post earlier, Marshall, Lee and Anderson . People haven't given them a pass and because they are screw ups doesn't justify signing another screw up. DGB has not stuck with a team due to lack of effort. Don't need him halfassing it on this roster. Spin it however you like , DBG I'd not worth the hassle.

nobody said he half assed it. matter of fact here is the direct quote

Mularkey obviously wanted more from him but enver accused him of being lazy or half assing it. Philly let him walk after signing 2 vets. one of whom is a top 10 WR in the NFL when healthy (jeffrey) plus they have 2 former 1st round picks of their own matthews (who has played well) and agholar (who hasn't) Philly has a record of doing these things. they traded murray (a top RB in the NFL) to the titans 2 seasons ago as well, that was after trading mccoy to buffalo because they signed murray and matthews and sproles. Would you consider murray and mccoy to be bad players too? both are top 10 RBS in the NFL

He didn't put in enough effort.
Spin it how you like. He could not beat out the likes of Shelton Gibson, Paul Turner, and undrafted former QB, Greg Ward Jr . All out competed and outperformed him in OTAs. He is a tremendous athlete but has not put forth the effort to succeed.
Obviously your fixated on DGB and are not capable of reason. Just like when you spent weeks trying to convince us why we should keep Revis.

Winslow, Jr. was probably just following the lead set by his HC. His HC probably turned him on to feet, and Winslow saw a gorgeous pair of feet go by and couldn't help himself.

That sounds to me like DGB is doing just enough to try to get by, but not working to maximize his talent. Some people have to work harder at things than others. That's just life. I think DGB is probably borderline mentally handicapped. He needs to work a lot harder than others to learn and process.

If that's true, then he wouldn't stand a chance with a more complex offense like the WCO, even if he was on his best behavior and put forth some effort. He just isn't worth the effort or distraction.
