Agreed. Anyone who thought Sanchez would sail through this season, adapting to & overcoming every nuance of the NFL game the first time he saw it, was nuts (and I said so at the time). He didn't even do that in college, and he only started like 16 games there after all. Sanchez did not look good today. But the reality is, he's looked better than anyone has reason to have expected him to so far, overall, and also most of the time the Jets D looked good. The Jets will be fine. Maybe not an inside track to the superbowl or anything, but ... come on, who expected that with a new HC and a defensive scheme and rookie QB and gutted WR corp?!? This will take a little time. At least people should expect it to -- the surprise should be if it doesn't take much, not that it does.
I agree, I pegged us for being 0-4 when they announced Sanchez as starter fore the season. I wouldn't care if we were 1-3 at this point...as long we beat New England. Being 3-1 puts us in a very good position.
Yes sir. I was hoping for 2 - 2 at best, but thought 0 - 4 or 1 - 3 were much more likely. I think it's pretty telling that I sat through this game frustrated with the mistakes, but accepting them as fully expected bumps along the learning curve. We may even end up a better team as the season goes on because of the adversity today.
