I have seen him play...and yes he played in shotgun exsclusively...I am not defending him as a player. You were implying that he will suck because he scored poorly on a stupid test.

No im implying he will either be the worst player or best player in the NFL. I will take my odds on the worse

haha...so he has no chance at being a decent QB? That's pretty weird...

I just think a Qb like him can never be a career backup or just an average Joe , just a theory I have on QB's like him

What makes you say that? I said if N.O. gets Brees, there is a slight chance Lienart could fall.... before there was no chance.

I kinda agree. I think Young is too much of a college player and wont adapt to the faster pace of the pro game. He wont get near the results he got in college

Leinart would fall one draft slot to Tennessee...if that is "falling" then yeah...he will fall

My confidence in leinart lessens with every passing day.

First of he does not enter the draft last season when he was at his highest.

Then he chooses not to workout at the combines? Wtf, does he know something?

Or maybe it just could be he wanted to party in college being popular one more year.

It still doesnt explain why he didnt workout in the combine.

    Just good business

He didn't work out because his agent told him he didn't have to.
He WILL be the first QB taken. Our goal is to try to make it us that takes him. Young is not the answer and cutler is just hype. I am a little wary of his maturity-yeah, I woulda stayed an extra year, college was a blast-but I think mangini is a no nonsense kind of guy that could motivate this star in waiting.

    MUST GET LEINART

I love these threads! More chances to voice my opinion that Vince Young's best game was January 4, 2006 and that he'll never play that good again. He'll be lucky if he's a backup qb in the NFL. I say punt returner b y the time he's finished...in 3-4 years.
Matt Leinart, on the other hand, is the best qb available, whether it's via draft or even thrown into the mix with veteran fa's or tradeables(including Ramsey, Kitna, Brees, Collins, Brooks, etc.). It's obviously a 50-50 gamble, but my money's on Broadway Matt to be a star in the NFL. He's smart, a great leader , and accurate. Not strong-armed, but we're used to that. And he's hungry. HIS last game means he has something to prove when he steps on the field again. This guy is hungry for NFL championships to add to his trophy collection; not content with what he already has (2 Nat'l titles AND a Heisman!) If he's available, the Jets HAVE TO take him. This guy is franchise-caliber. And if Penny turns up shiny and new, then we have another 1st rounder next year to trade Broadway Matt for. Hello Brady Quinn!! (Second verse...same as the first...)

Even still, Vince Young won't even be worthy of holding Jay Cutler's clipboard on a sideline someday.

Leinart is not falling to 4... Norm Chow will not allow it in Tennessee.

It would also be insane to trade up for him... we have 2 holes on the OL to fill and we need as many first day picks as possible. Keep the 29 (if we get it) and draft Mangold there.

And what has Jay Cutler proven? Only that he is a workout warrior.

Bottom line is if Young or Leinart is available when we pick, you gotta take one of them. Trading away 2 first rounders to get them might be a bit much and the decision to do something like that probably won't happen until the day of the draft.

How can you even put those two in the same sentence...Leinart is worth 2 first rounders...Young isn't even in the top ten

He's working at his pro day, and so are dbrick, bush, young. He's putting himself in the best situation to impress the teams.

This is a dead issue..we are not drafting a QB in round 1 or 2... lets get back to reality...

we will go into the season with

    1) Penny
    2) Bollinger
    3) FA pickup....Ramsey or Kitna

We have too many holes to fill, and the #4 pick allows us to trade the pick down and fill those holes. Not to mention the pick or picks we get for ABE
