I see what your saying about the schools. But as far as comparing Eli playing 2 seasons in the NFL and Leinart just entering the draft you dont know who will be better, yes at this point Eli has been better in the NFL b/c Leinart isnt there yet. but with your logic, it would be like saying Tom Brady should have been the 1st overall pick, but if any team drafted him 1st the GM would have been fired on the spot just based on college performance. Hindsight is always 20/20. We can compare Eli and Leinart for college performance but not NFL performance...yet.
No I am not saying that Matt shouldn't be in the top 5 picks. I am just saying Eli was a great college qb and is going to be a great NFL qb. Matt could be a bust or the next Marino. If Bush had come out in 2004 Eli wouldn't have been the first pick. I'm not triing to bash Matt just defend Eli (he is goofy looking and it look like he needed a little help)
 Well i have to agree there Eli is a goofy looking bastard. MAybe i misunderstood what you were saying, but i do agree with you, although i would love to see Eli just be average and piss off all the giants fans. i think he will be good. As far as Leinart i think he will be a good QB, (and if he goes to NYJ i hope he'll be the next Montana)
Leinart stayed because he loved going to school at USC, being a big man on campus, getting ladies there, and partying it up. It's a well-known fact to everyone that he wants the spotlight on him and is a bit more obsessed with "fame" than football. He didn't stay at USC because he thought he needed another year of tutelage.
He stayed for a fifth year to party instead of coming out with his class as the consensus no. 1 pick. Partied, didn't improve, didn't win the national championship, and won?t be the No. 1 pick. Eli > Matt.
My thoughts exactly. When I saw the title to this thread, I wasn't sure in which way the starter was going to compare the two  Either way, Not too sure if I see your new managment going in the high profile QB race. Probably go with a lower QB pick. Draft smart and you could get a viable QB for a ton less cap space.
I can't see Leinart "pulling an Eli" since he doesn't have the leverage that Eli had. Eli was the consensus #1 player in the draft while Leinart does not have that recognition.
