Why don't you actually try reading the beginning of the argument. You posted your open ended dumbass question about Idzik's 'deliberate & calculated' approach, which you've since gone back on 180 degrees as his increasingly expensive moves and potential moves have developed, and I posted my disagreement without any personal attacks at you. Then since you can't read the difference between 'several' and 'seven' you started personally attacking me even though you were the one that started in on the bullshit which you've gone back and forth on whichever way the wind is blowing, and because you can't actually read besides. You're right, it's not the funniest or meanest insult I could come up with. I just like watching the way you freak out everytime you read the words 'Vick' and 'dog' in the same sentence. Could get about ten times meaner but I know that it's not your fault you can't read or pick just one argument even if it's stupid and stick with it, and that makes you sad deep down so I'm just keeping it playful. Since you've declared that you're dedicating the rest of your life to me though, I'll probably have to start pulling out the stops and get creative after a few years of you following me around like a trained Doberman, let's see how it goes.
kind of hard to see the deliberate approach, which after was overrated. Ftr I am not thrilled by the vick move, but it does look like the jets had to so something at Qb, so I won't dump on it. But the reality is Vick was not being courted by anyone else. it does not show the FO going in there and snatching a player some other teams wanted, not that that is always a critical measure - just when you need to do it. Still an Incomplete for the Idzik regime, at best. And for consistency, not even that.
Lol, alright man. I'm not going to fight with you anymore. You might want to get that "psycho ex girlfriend" syndrome checked out though. The "several" "seven" thing is pretty ridiculous. Is there even that much of a difference?Did I press the issue?Do you really think you won the overall argument based on a miniscule misread? And while we're on the subject the giacomino contract info i mentioned was based on what was originally reported via nfl network. The adjusted numbers essentially helped my argument but no matter. I actually want to thank you. You have given me quite the epiphany. I have come on this site for more than a decade for 2 reasons...information & hope as it pertains to the team I love. You & many others don't offer anything in terms of either.Instead you act like you know more than the team does & constantly dwelling on the negative. Now maybe others appreciate that viewpoint but I don't. I support my team.If a plan seems reasonable & intelligent I will be patient & support it. I don't buy into this espn instant gratification world of draft busts, armchair gms & madden mania. To me it serves no purpose.Football is about escaping other hardships of life not to hear about how your team is a circus or how some joe schmoe would build a team differently. Folks like you will now be on my ignore list. I come here for joy not sorrow. People alreasy label me a homer anyway. But isnt that the idea of being a fan?? Go Jets In Idzik we trust
From following me around for life to ignore list in less than 24 hours. Must've learned to flip-flop from Mitt Romney. No room to improve there.
Don't worry theres plenty of time left for that ,wait for the draft when he drafts defense with the first round pick
These dudes talking about "not backing down" on a message board is ... well. It's a sad moment in TGG history. I just hope that they're under 18 or disabled or something like that.
Yeah there are two individuals that engaged in a verbal sparring match. I checked this post a couple of days ago and they were doing the same thing, come back on a leisurely sunday - 10 pages later, ditto. So, in my world I think "these guys are messed up in the head or something". Who wastes their time like this engaging in meaningless banter and "bullying" on a message board (as if that even exists lol). You can't be bullied on a message board... that's just ridiculous. It's really quite entertaining I guess. So I'm not complaining just marveling at how lame some people's lives must be.
I found this article on Idzik its pretty intresting you get a good feel for what his former coworkers have to say about him
It almost seems like Idzik WANTS the jets to have the lowest payroll in the league. Maybe that was a Woody directive prior to being hired because of all the stupid contracts Terry Boobway and Mike Tannyidiot handed out for so many years.
If you can ever get an organization to the point that everybody is thinking like this you're going to be really hard to beat.
Or maybe there's just no reason to spend money on things that are not likely to be part of the solution in the end? There's a really good argument for treating the cap like a resource instead of a limiter. If you look at the cap as a primary contributor to the organization staying strong over time then you save it for use on your own players commensurate to their contributions to the team. That builds up a strong sense of team, since players see that their contributions to winning are rewarded, and it minimizes the unknowns involved in managing a professional roster. You know your own players much better than you are likely to know any mid-career player coming in the door. Your players also know each other much better and have to do less re-shuffling of the clubhouse year after year as they fit rookies into the culture. In two years time the Jets are going to have to have resolved the Mo Wilkerson contract. They're going to be at the decision point with a bunch of other players. It will help a lot in that process if they're not tight up against the cap with a bunch of players nearing 30 and likely on the way out.
I'm happy with Idzik. A good exec doesn't usually go for the first tier FA guys because that's not the way to build a franchise. And often as with DRC they're not worth it. Esp. now that rookie salaries are not as extravagant. He still has to spend 90% of the cap so let it be on guys who can play and give us depth in key positions. Some fans just want big names even if they are overrated.
Funny how it always comes back to Woody with Jets fans. Are you forgetting that just 1 week ago Woody said he wanted DeSean? An owner wanting to save cap space for personal financial reasons make zero sense since you eventually HAVE to spend the cap money. God, stupid fans anger me so much.
