There are no "legitimate" concerns about Idzik. We are two weeks into free agency in year two following a year, where we marked to win 2 games, finishing 8-8. Calm the fuck down with this legitimate concerns bullshit.
We went 8-8 because of Rex not Idzik ,any other coach outside of a Belicheat type we woulda easily been 4-12.And our schedule is looking a lot tougher then last season its kinda equal but its def a little bit tougher
Yea I know your point ,you wanna give Idzik a gatorade bath for standing still and doing nothing.Tell me how has he improved this team so far without mentioning draft and Decker
It can when Guy X (or shall we say "Manish X") makes it up and the other's all say "Guy X is reporting ..."
Lol not him... He's the only one with a million unnamed sources. As much as I want to believe his bullshit about fury in the halls of the jets facility. I just can't. Lol even during this time, I find him full of shit. I'm always shocked when credible reporters quote his tweets.
He's not the only person carrying this sentiment. My OPINION on the situation is idzik has done a POOR job, allot of people outside this board also feel idzik has done a poor job. But there just opinions. That fool and his unnamed sources speaks as if there facts. Lol
I am calmly observing the green and white Kool Aid drinkers here and laughing at their complacency. And at yours. Patience is not an excuse for inaction when action is needed.
Idzik's mantra is competition. That means you bring in a bunch of guys that don't cost that much and, hopefully, some of them have talent and can be coached up. This is what seattle did. Where he had a glaring hole (at WR), he addressed it with Decker (clearly among the best FA WRs available). I expect that he'll sign one or 2 more young CBs and add them to the mix. The fact of the matter is the jets secondary was so awful last year that it will be better this year by simply not having Cromartie and because of Millner's development. I, personally, think that Walls can play and should be given an opportunity to get that starting spot and there's no way that he'll be worse than Cromartie was last year. Walls has 4.4 speed and his positioning is generally excellent. He lacks experience, but if you start him then he'll get some.
I understand having a negative opinion on something, but so many posters here either make things up, or totally exaggerate things just to cast everything in a negative way so they can complain and moan about nothing in particular. Idzik is only in his second year as GM, and has been successful so far. He came into a situation that was considered the worst assembly of overpaid talent in the league and was stuck with a coach he supposedly didn't want. He was stuck with a QB group of Sanchez and Tebow, and contracts that dictated Holmes and Sanchez stick around another year, not to mention an all-pro CB who was demanding ~10% of the cap to himself. He made all the right moves, cutting Eric Smith, Calvin Pace, Bart Scott, Tim Tebow, Jason Smith, and Sione Pouh'a. They were all overpaid and old, were busts, or were named Tim Tebow. Then he managed to trade Revis out of the conference for a top 15 pick in the immediately following draft. He then traded a 4th for Chris Ivory. He brought back Howard and Pace and brought in a number of guys that didn't cost a lot including David Garrard, Antwan Barnes, Willie Colon, Antonio Garay, Stephen Peterman, and Dawan Landry. Garay and Peterman didn't even end up making the team because Vlad and Sheldon beat them out. The draft watched us go BPA down the line. People complained about taking a DT when we were set but I don't think a single poster is unhappy we got Sheldon Richardson on our team. I think in this years draft the same thing will happen, and we will get good talent because of it. One thing I've noticed is that the Jets have been focusing on guys who "have qualities that will make them good Jets" which is interesting, because what they've really been looking at is does this guy play with passion and intensity. Sure this is a good thing for us fans, but what it's really doing is maximizing Rex Ryan's ability to inspire players, something we all agree Rex is a master of. In Seattle one reason they are so good is because the players buy in and go all out for Pete Carroll. All of Rex's best players, especially defensively, are the ones who loved Rex and played balls-to-the-walls for him. Shaun Ellis, Bart Scott, Jim Leonhard, Muhammad Wilkerson... All of these guys are like that. Noticeably to me, Idzik is searching these guys out. Colon is a passionate player, Richardson is, Milliner is, I think Geno really is, I think many of our other new players are as well but we really haven't had a chance to see yet. I think Revis is an interesting case, because as great as he is it doesn't seem to be about brotherhood for him, I know this is just conjecture but what I think is what Revis really loves more than anything else is the pure domination of the opposing player, which is why he loves matching up 1 on 1 and can hyper focus on them. He is a complete player because his will to win includes beating blocks and making tackles as well, but it's more about personal triumph to him.
Lol. Sure if the D-Line just stands there holding their d***s. But they will be pass rushing the hell out of the QB.
Just explain how we have gotten worse than last year? We have nearly the same team, minus one of the worst CB's in the league, and an upgrade at WR. QB is the last real question on the team, and Vick would answer that question by maintaining the mantra of competition.
