I wouldn't complain about having Leftwich behind center, we're probably gonna run a more conservative offense and I think Leftwich would be a solid game manager who could win us a game or two if need be
He'll be 29 on Wednesday. Got no problem with that signing although he is as injury prone as another Marshall alum we knew. Is Leftwich a lefty? If yes, not real sure I'm comfortable with Brandon Moore on Leftwich's blind side

Rocinante - One of my favorite usernames on the entire board. I've never been a Leftwich fan. I suppose I wouldn't object to him as a backup. He looks like a happy person. They're good to have around. But I'm still bothered by the glaring hole at the top of the depth chart. . . . . I say to myself, knowing that someone is soon to follow, selling me on the merits of future Hall of Famer, Brett Ratliff.
Byron Leftwich is a righty. As I said earlier I am no opposed to the idea of bringing in Leftwich. This is a guy who needs another chance. The biggest problem with him though is that he is injury prone. But he has a winning record as a starter (24-22) nothing special but he can win games at this level. He has a big arm which is something that I feel is necesarry when you play at the Meadowlands. He is a big guy and is hard to bring down. If Leftwich can stay healthy he could be a good player in this league. He's 29 so he could be here for a while if it were to work out. I wouldnt have a problem with giving him a shot to it least compete for the starting job in camp. If you like Ratliff then bring in Leftwich as competetion for him and as a backup plan if Ratliff wins the job and then struggles. If you dont like Ratliff then draft a QB and let Leftwich start the season while the QB you drafted sits and learns.
I would be down with Leftwich if he came cheap. He is a bit injury prone though. Guy has a great arm.
I'd be fine with him being a veteran backup, but I would much rather see what Clemens has behind a quality line.
I almost made a thread on this a long time ago. (and again yesterday) He has shown to me that he can be a starting QB (and successful)... Plus he has heart and he went to Marshal.
If the price is right why the heck not. Does make sense to have a vet QB who is not into himself to bring along the youngsters. Favre has already stated while with GB that he does not help out the younger ones saying something to the effect of "Nobody helped me along so they can find their own way".
