As far as the Oline, Sanders and AP say hello. This oline is not as bad as people make it out to be, we can address the gaurd position in free agency but take an OLB or RB in the 1st and 2nd rounds.
Lattimore in the 6th and Bernard in the 1st? I like it. I also like Lutz in the 7th. however, I'm not entirely sold on Glennon. Sanchez will be our starter next year, we should build around him.
It was our friends the Bills who took him. I still think that if he come out he would go somewhere in the third at the latest if teams think he can overcome the latest injury. He was far and away the best back in this draft pre injury.
Appreciate the response Johnny, and as you know I wanted to give a different mock here and of course tried to add my favorite player in Gio. Jamison is a close second at RB for me and looked at the scenario you said or passrusher in the 1st and Jawan in the second. I know drafting a QB to groom wont do us any good next year, but if he's developed the right way, it could pay off in a HUGE way in the following years. I think the kid has all the tools to be a franchise QB. He's not a Diva like Sanchez and is everything Sanchez isn't. If he turns out to be nothing special, its easier to cut ties with a second round pick or even a late first than it is with the 5th overall pick that you've invested so much money in. Quinton Patton is easily one of my favorite WR prospects. I think he can be a very good #2 WR in the future and has great value in the middle rounds. I really wanted to build a draft around your avatar, Anthony Barr, but who knows if he decides to come out today... If Barr enters the draft, I would be completely okay with staying put at the 9th pick and drafting our future Aldon Smith. Yeah last year we had the same sentiments on Doug Martin... This year, I advise you to check out Gio Bernard. I think he runs with better instincts than Doug Martin and has similar explosion/agility. After watching Shonn Greene miss holes and leave tons of yards on the field every game, it truly makes you appreciate a runners ability to read the hole and setup his blocks. Gio does just that the best out of anyone in this class. He has great vision and can make people miss. He doesnt have as much power as Doug Martin, but he has a respectable amount that allows him to run between the tackles very effectively. Another RB to look at is Jawan Jamison... SImilar build to Bernard, a little bit more explosive but not as good vision/instincts (simply because Bernard's is the best in the class).
Yeah I know the bills took him I just had a brain fart. I've been on a lot of pain medication lately so it was just a error. I agree he was the clear rb in this draft class but I still don't think he overcomes todays NFL. As far as draft status anyway. I just can't imagine a team reaching on this guy until the later rounds. There is only a few teams that may take a shot at him early and I think we would be one of those teams, given we still move forward with our ground and pound mentality and schemes.
That's a good way to look at it, what teams may be interested in a back like him. Assuming he is healthy or seen to be able to recover. The jets for sure, the steelers if they decide to let mendanhall walk, the bengals need some youth In The backfield and like powerful runners, the colts could use a young back for luck, the titans and jags could use a young back behind aging high priced vets. In just the AFC I can come up with 5. None of them would take him in the first couple of rounds, but the potential catches up to the value quickly after that. I really can't see him lasting past the 4th if teams believe he will recover.
Thats the way I see it. I just dont see a team spending even a mid round pick on such a huge question mark that already had injury concerns/hadnt already recovered completely from his last injury.
