I thought there was a computer game years and years ago called Jane Bond, I think it is a term that has been used for a long time as it is closest to James lol I think that film is a bit of erotica and not a real 'Bond' but it was just a quick search for an image for a laugh tbh
I don't see what you see in Wilson at all. I'm also not impressed with Fields. I don't want either Fields or Wilson, and I certainly don't want Sam starting for another season. If the Jets don't wind up with the #1 pick and miss out on Lawrence, I'd rather both trade down a couple of spots and take Chase and trade Sam, then start Morgan.
i don’t see top 20 1st round talent with Wilson... looks more like 2nd rounder+ to me. Fields in the right NFL offense is going to be a handful. He is one of the best on the run throwers I’ve seen, has good arm talent and is a great athlete. I don’t have great confidence in the Jets to develop him though, but he’s in the mold of today’s NFL qb who have the most success and he’s honestly a better athlete than all but Lamar Jackson but throws a lot better... Would not shock me in the least if in 5 years, it’s an Luck vs Wilson conversation. You can’t take Chase over Sewell imo. WR’s can be found all throughout the draft, the best guy last year is arguably Jefferson and he was the 5th WR off the board. I think Mims has a chance to be better than a lot of the guys picked before him too... Not to say I don’t like Chase, but he’s not a freak specimen (size/speed) + won’t test through the roof. He also opted out for covid so there’s that...
I already plan to look at more film of both Fields and Wilson, so my opinion could change, but at the moment, my mind and heart are set on Lawrence. Right now, it would totally shock me if Wilson was being compared to Luck in 5 years. I didn't see anything impressive about him in the loss to Coastal Carolina. I wouldn't even draft him based on his play in that game. We'll just have to agree to disagree on Chase vs Sewell. IMO there's no way the Jets would be able to pay both Becton and Sewell. Too much cap space would be tied up in the OL, and then they wouldn't be able to pay skill position players. This happened with the Jets back in 2009 or 2010. A WR like Chase will make any QB better. He is an amazing talent. Besides, that's way too high to take a RT. That's not efficient use of cap space. RTs can be found all through the draft as well. Whereas RTs have to be better pass protectors than they used to have to be, they still don't have to be as good as LTs. It would also be criminal to play Sewell at RT, and I sure as hell wouldn't move Becton to RT. Sewell opted out for Covid too, so you can't use that as a negative for Chase and then ignore it for Sewell. Chase has freak production. Here's what thedraftnetwork has to say about him: https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/jamarr-chase/SDOMHXqIQp With Chase, Mims and Crowder, the Jets would suddenly have one of the best WR corps in the NFL. If they got any production at all from their TE and RB positions in the passing attack, it would give opposing DCs nightmares. There's no way that they could cover them all. All the experts have Chase rated as a top 10, if not top 5 talent and draft pick. Neither they nor I give a crap about how he tests at the Combine. It's what he does on the playing field that matters, not in shorts on a track.
1st Tier - Trev Lawrence 2nd Tier- Justin Fields 3rd Tier- Lance, Wilson, Jones, Trask Justin Fields would feel like a nice consolation prize to me while any from Tier 3 would feel like the drunk fat chick still at the bar at 2am.
I'd rather keep darnold and trade back then take fields. if we fall to the 2nd pick that's our best option.
No, it isn't. Darnold is toast here. He will never be good here. Just too much negative has happened to him, and I don't think that much of the fanbase would give him a chance. They'd start booing him unmercifully. If he has any chance of resurrecting his career, he has to go elsewhere. IMO the only realistic options if we miss out on Lawrence, and Douglas doesn't like Fields, would be to either sign a veteran QB to start or to backup Morgan.
doesn't have to be darnold. we have cap room. we could make a run at dak. pay him the 40 mil he wants and have a 28 year old proven franchise QB for the next 5+ years. trade down from 2 for more picks and have a ton of picks to build a defense. sign thuney and robinson. out offense would be set. could even get a cheaper T2 RB like lindsey. that would give us lindsey, dak, a-rob, mims, crowder, a decent o-line, a new HC and OC. draft a back 7 for defense a late round kicker and maybe a late round OG
h was on pace to throw for almost 6k yards this season before getting hurt. all QBs are overpaid. it's a lot of money but is it worse then spending 4 years on a young QB who turns out not to be the guy?
We're not a QB away from contending. QB's on their rookie contracts aren't overpaid. It sucks that Sam didn't progress enough to show that he's the answer.
I know that but dak is a known quantity. any rookie draft picks could be good or could be bad. we can be a contender in 2 years with a QB like dak. who would only be 30 and under contract for 3 more years. with that said i'm not saying we should sign dak, i'm saying its an option depending on how the season finishes out
Wilson is better than fields, lance, jones and trask. Just say no to fields. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
